  1. What is Queens MPA GRE cut off or average GRE? Anybody please?
  2. Hey! Folks who've got admits from Queens MPA.. guess that's the only one (1 year) which has a mandatory GRE. I just wanted to know if the Queens MPA is worth for taking the GRE? I am an older prospect with 10 yrs industry exp and going back to GRE would be quite a thing for me (given other 1 years Mcgill Calgary Usask) don't ask for it. Please help.

  4. Hi HN19, Post these same questions to the admissions team of each school you are targeting. I did the same and got some very insightful responses with detailed scenario at each school. Every school and city has their pros and cons, so they'll be best able to comment on questions, esp. coming from international students (since MPP/MPA) has a slim international prospective student pool anyways. Having said so, my 2 cents on your questions based on the responses I received from schools - a) No, absolutely never a case (however in most programs the majority chunk is directly from undergrad or grad, with workexp pool seen in some like the recently opened Max Bell at McGill and Western MPA b) No, and yes (Canadians, not experience - for Federal jobs) c) You would be the best person to answer this since it really depends on your aspirations. Both Munk MPP and MGA are good and expensive as well, check theri curriculum may be d) May be, I havent given it a thought, I am an older applicant so wouldnt take them anyways hehe e) Admissions team again (but yeah, holistic - your degrees and workex would probably help you here) I am an aspirant from India too btw, but I plan to apply after my PR which is probably due in few months. I will apply and if my PR comes through before classes start, I (and my tuition) would become domestic - that's what all the adcoms said. All the best!
  5. Hi guys, I am from India and my Canadian PR is under process. I have 10 years work experience - into public sector consulting across government advisory (economic and policy advisory, smart cities, financial inclusion, digital transformation) for state (provincial) and central (federal) governments, social sector consulting for international NGOs. I have also volunteered for civic advocacy organizations in high impact projects. I am keen to pursue a career in the public policy and administration area in Canada, for which I want to pursue a relevant program. I would like to know about programs which are targeted or have a peer group of students with substantial (relevant) work experience? I am preferably looking for 1 year programs, and would like to pursue policy analysis / enforcement, urban livability index, data driven effective governance. Appreciate any input from current students, alumni or peer prospects. Thanks in advance!

  7. Hello All, The online application window for 2018 incoming batch has just got open. I am 8+ in the industry, 4 of which with social sector, NGOs and government consulting (not-profit). I also have an MBA. Suitably, I should apply for the MPA program, but I am more keen for the MPP program by looking at the diversity of employment outcomes of the batch that graduated in 2016, compared to MPA, where 77% went back to the government. Any suggestions?
