H S > P > M Y C from what I can tell, but it can vary by subfield. Another thing to keep in mind -- having a good "brand" (i.e. an Ivy/Stanford) can matter a lot if you strike out on the academic job market (as many of us likely will unfortunately) and move into government/private sector work.

I think this thread/responses might be more applicable as we get more into March. I'll be posting around then. -
Seriously appreciated Same -- definitely prefer when they just give us the info all at once.
-
Nope -- I honestly haven't received much communication from them at all compared to the other schools. Granted, they were the first ones I heard back from.
-
Exactly -- you hit the nail right on the head there. Especially for schools that have been extra friendly!
-
Haha I'm actually hoping for some rejections -- my inbox is very busy. It's like when you go somewhere and the menu has 30-50 options. I want more of an In-N-Out level of choices
-
Congratulations -- that's an amazing school! I have a friend there who really has liked it. I'm CP, and mine isn't updated either.
-
Tell me about it haha. Also I feel guilt easily, so it'll sting when I deny anyone. I honestly just thought I'd have 2-3 offers. My LOR writers must have worked some magic.

Got Stonybrook and WUSTL. I way overpaid on application fees ?Imposter Syndrome is expensive, y'all.

Top Programs - GRE Medians/Ranges

Good luck! FWIW, your mileage might vary on marginal increases to the GRE. I wouldn't focus all your energy/money/time on achieving a "perfect" score if that makes sense. -
It can really depend on the school. What I see most often is that it'll come out in a batch by subfield because those decisions are often made independently of each other. Some schools are known for dragging it out, where others are known for pretty consistently sending everything out at once.

Top Programs - GRE Medians/Ranges

Hey, we have the exact same GRE -- that's wild! I do CP and have only applied to PhD programs, so it's a little different process/background. But your scores are totally fine to get you into good programs. Also, MA programs tend to be a tad bit easier to get into generally. The AW is the area they probably care least about, but it's nice to have! I'd say, have your LOR writers contextualize your "poor" academic record. They can usually alleviate concerns, especially if you have good reasons for this (e.g. switched from a major with lower average GPAs, had a family/health hardship, etc.). Also, many schools will have you calculate your upper-level or junior/senior GPA as well, so if you showed improvement over time, they'll mind less. -
I haven't seen anything either -- could be a troll or just an earlier admit. Also, huge congrats to @Dwar on the acceptance!

That's me. I have a different family situation than most (kids and a spouse who wants to work in their field), so I applied to a good number. Additionally, I REALLY didn't think I'd get into many, so I wanted to apply broadly so as to have options in terms of cost of living, rank, etc.. My undergrad department also funds up to $500 in application fees for students and former students, so that helped a bit.

Got an email for NYU acceptance just now. They said official ones will be going out sometime this week?
-
I had a 169v/164q/6.0w. Also claiming a Minnesota acceptance -- a lot happening today! Good luck to everyone -- I know this is a hard time of the year.

Just got an admittance to UC San Diego (Comparative subfield) via email

Got an email acceptance to UC Davis

I applied to Harvard -- nothing yet. But Harvard usually doesn't get back until nearer to end of February based on the last few years. I posted a bit earlier on this thread a list of approximate dates you can expect to hear back. Also heads up -- I have a friend at Michigan that said they likely will have a very small cohort this year because they had an unusually high yield last year (like 20 in the class). Similar to Duke, except they are taking some students this year.
-
Same here! (also CP) And same wording too.
-
Just got an email informing me I've been waitlisted at Berkeley. They said they had a particularly small cohort this year or they would have offered admission. ?♀️Hopefully it's a good sign though that I'm in the running at other Top 10 programs!

CP, but secondary AP

Same here!

I've heard that UPenn doesn't always do interviews -- it's more up to the POI/subfield.

Got wait-listed at UT Austin
