  1. Same! I'm deciding between Ford and Carnegie Mellon Heinz over the next two weeks, but would love to connect with you guys and hear more about your background and academic/career goals.
  2. Same, I got into three of my top programs when I was only expecting to get accepted to maybe one, they're all in the midwest (Pittsburgh feels like the midwest even if it isn't technically) with great reputations and in awesome cities that I'd love to live in. I'm not complaining at all lol, I honestly just don't know how I'm going to make this decision.
  3. My issues that have been eating me are A. One of my recommenders has been procrastinating insanely long on submitting letters to the point that I doubt they will ever get in (luckily not for NYU), but also B. Wagner and HKS deadlines were much earlier than my other deadlines so they were the first ones I submitted. Realized I made several rookie mistakes that I fixed on later apps, but of course those were the ones were small mistakes would matter the most lol. Oh well
  4. Thanks, three of them are the same institutions but I'm applying for their concurrent degrees for which you have to do a separate app for each program. I also added MSU and WSU considerably after the fact just as fall backs since I currently live in Michigan. Fingers crossed for all of them though
  5. Do you guys think it's too late to do the option video interview? I accidentally let the week slip by and forgot to conduct my interview within 7 days of receiving the invitation. It is now day 9, but perhaps they have not fully reviewed my app yet and it could still do me some good. Thoughts?
  6. I listened to some of the webinars and they recommend doing the interview, but if it's optional than obviously they're prepared to admit students who don't do it. I think it just gives them a better sense of who the person is off-paper if that makes sense. It's also not really an interview, I think it's just three questions that you have to answer extemporaneously as if it were an interview, but I don't think it's like a Skype call or anything. I'm probably doing mine tomorrow or Saturday. I'm pretty nervous about it too but I thought, it can't hurt I don't think so why not.
  7. There's an optional video interview of three questions I think for all Heinz applicants, I just got my link for my MSPPM - Pittsburgh application
  8. I haven't been keeping track really, but I've easily spent over $900 total between taking the GRE twice, re-scheduling a test date, ordering GRE scores sent, ordering transcripts sent, and then application fees that range from $65 - $100 dollars a piece. It's been ridiculous
  9. Same here, my thought was that they send it out once they've received all of your recommendations and verified other app materials. Good luck!
  10. I could have written this post myself, right down the to the GRE percentiles but minus the safety school part. Hang in there! I'm lucky to have a few years of somewhat relevant work experienceafter undergrad which I'm hoping helps my application, but only time will tell at this point. My major concerns have always been GPA and funding, but I'm hoping the stars align somehow.
  11. If you have an opinion formed already, how has your first semester been so far pursing this path? I'm currently applying for the concurrent programs you decided on at Harvard and, though I'm worried about getting in obviously, I think I'm more worried about getting in and not being able to pay for the awesome opportunity to study there. Any tips?
  12. I received an email one week after the deadline from NYU Wagner Admissions that included the following: "Thank you for submitting your application to NYU Wagner. We have received all requisite materials, and your application is currently being reviewed by the Admissions Committee." I think this is what they are referring to.
  13. From what I've read on this site, it seems everyone gets notified more or less at the same time.
  14. Nice! I'm also applying to Harris and GSD, I considered doing Harris' early action but it was SO early and their site said submitting in the first round still qualifies for financial aid so I decided to focus on the other hard deadlines. Other programs are split between MPP and MUPs at Michigan, Wisconsin, UIC, CMU, and Harvard Kennedy. I'll be thrilled to get in anywhere and even more thrilled if scholarships can make any of them financially tenable. Just have to apply and wait
  15. Applied to the MPP program. I don't have any illusions as my GPA was not stellar and even if I get in financing will be difficult, but I'm glad I applied anyway. Anyone here have any tips on third-party scholarships/fellowships/grants? Looking at the financial aid app now and I'm starting to more fully realize there's no way I can pay to go to HKS without massive help lol
  16. I applied by the deadline for the MUP program at Wagner, was super stressed about getting all the essay stuff together on time but managed that ok. Now one of my recommenders has randomly not submitted, even as of this morning. I'm really hoping Wagner is understanding of this situation since I really did a lot to make sure he understood the deadline and gave him many reminders. Anyway, which program is everyone applying to?
