  1. You referring to Boston or Baylor? I'd be interested to know if anyone has heard from Baylor's PsyD program. It's been just about three weeks since the interview weekend.
  2. Anyone heard from Arkansas yet? My POI told us that he'd let us all know at the same time when he made any decisions. They told us we'd hear back in about one or two weeks. It's been a little more than three weeks, so I'm starting to get a bit nervous.
  3. @zoelee I can answer a couple of your questions. Yes, ABA/becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) deals mostly with autism. A MA or MS in mental health counseling would typically cover things like depression, anxiety, other internalizing disorders, adjustment issues, etc. Counseling therapists typically work in a clinic where clients come to them. Some BCBAs/RBTs work in clients' homes, in their schools, or in a clinic. You need a masters degree in Behavior Analysis or in a related field such as psych, special ed, education with an additional certified course sequence in ABA to become a BCBA. RBTs (Registered Behavior Technicians, sometimes referred to as "behavior therapists") can be hired with just a bachelors degree in psych or another related field. They work under masters level BCBAs directly implementing programming developed by the BCBAs with clients. It's a pretty unique job in that bachelors-level graduates can get clinical experience working with clients. A lot of clients on the spectrum also have comorbid anxiety, OCD, PDD, ODD, etc. so it can be good experience with being exposed to a variety of disorders. Like I mentioned earlier, sometimes people refer to RBTs as behavior 'therapists', but it's a bit of a misnomer in my opinion. RBTs are not therapists in the same sense that a masters level counselor would be. I refer to myself as a Registered Behavior 'Technician', which is what the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) calls them. Depending on where you live, there may be several agencies in your area hiring for RBTs. Behavior Analysis as a field and treatment for autism is becoming much more widespread and the demand for RBTs and BCBAs is increasing throughout the country. At this point in my life, I'm hoping to pursue becoming a clinical psychologist, but my ABA job has been very good clinical experience and has helped solidify my desire to work in the mental health industry. If you want to pursue becoming an RBT, I'd search "registered behavior technician" or "ABA therapist" in indeed.com with your zip code. I'd bet that there are some agencies in your area where you could apply if you're interested.
  4. Anyone heard back from Arkansas yet? Those who posted acceptances on the results page, would you mind PMing your POIs? My POI told us he would inform all applicants when he makes his initial decision.
  5. To the Arkansas poster on the results page who was accepted by phone today, who's your POI? Was the call from your POI personally or was it from the admissions coordinator?
  6. I got an email from UMKC on Jan. 24th saying all invites had been extended, but I was on the waitlist. Arkansas had their interview day on Jan. 22nd. They told us we'd be hearing back around now for decisions. Apparently someone on the results page heard back by phone just three days after the interview. Interested to figure out who the POI for that poster is.
  7. School: University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) Type: PhD Date of invite: 1/26/18 Type of invite: mass email from academic secretary Interview date(s): February 24th, 2018 I can PM my POI to anyone interested. However, my POI wasn't cc'd on the email nor was she mentioned at any point in the interview email. Not sure if this is unusual, but the other schools I've received interviews indicated I would specifically be interviewing to join Dr. X's lab.
  8. Got an email from UMKC this afternoon saying that their decisions have been made for extending interview invites, but that I am on the waitlist should someone turn down an interview.
  9. I would also appreciate a POI PM for UMKC and to know whether it was a mass email or personal POI email.
  10. For those of you who posted in the results survey about Curry Virginia, could you PM me your POIs please? Also, I'm wondering if they sent out the emails to all the invitees at the same time...holding out hope they'll email me later today...
  11. Would you mind sending me your POI's initials? Also do you mean 2/1-2/2 for the interview dates?
  12. Has anyone heard from the Virginia Curry School of Education for their Clinical Psych Ph.D.? They have 1/26 and 2/9 listed as their interview dates. It seems a little short notice to have not sent out invites, especially for the 1/26 date. Also, has anyone heard back from SMU's program? The CUDCP calendar initially stated that interview emails should be sent out on Dec. 29th and then was changed to today (1/8). If anyone's heard back, is the interview date on the CUDCP calendar correct (Friday 2/2)?
