  1. On Thursday, I noticed my Waterloo portal had been updated, it no longer said "awaiting decision", it looks pretty much like an acceptance (It now says Part time, MPH, Fall 2018, and there's a button to click deny, presumably if I want to reject the offer). However, no formal letter of offer or email or anything, I thought maybe I would get it on Friday but nothing yet. So I am accepted to Victoria and Waterloo, although I would love to go to Waterloo, I think overall Victoria is a better fit for me. I don't know when I have to respond to Waterloo though.
  2. Does anyone know good options to look for public health scholarships, particularly for those doing course-based, non-research masters?
  3. Mine still says "Awaiting decision..." . Did you get a formal waitlist letter, or just have the same message on your portal?
  4. I heard from UVic and was accepted last week (deadline to accept offer is April 6). I'm a nurse but I did enroll in the policy stream. I contacted them about the possibility of switching streams and they said that you have until the end of term 1 to committ to a stream, but there is a possibility that the nursing stream will not be offered due to low enrolment (It hasn't run the past few years becuase of low enrolment). Apparently lots of nurses are in the MPH program but choose one of the other streams. I was told that if you are accepted and the nursing stream does not proceed, you will be admitted into your second choice stream.
  5. 25 pages is a lot to go through again but I'm pretty sure I saw a few people get both rejections and acceptances to Waterloo MPH. Personally, mine stills says awaiting decision.
  6. Hi all, I just got an acceptance email from University of Victoria MPH a few minutes ago! I just checked my portal and it still says under review. "You will also be required to attend an onsite Gateway orientation to the program August 27- 30, 2018 at UVic in Victoria, BC." I have until April 6 to respond. Keep holding on everyone!
  7. For those who were already accepted to waterloo: Were you told what the dates are of the on campus portion in August?
  8. Any news from Victoria? I've applied to UWaterloo and UVic, and I've read people's posts about Waterloo, some accetances, some rejections, more to admissions to come at the end of March. But I haven't seen a single post of anyone getting news from Victoria!
  9. Any more details? Are they doing rolling-type admissions, or is it like if you haven't gotten contacted yet, you're waitlisted?
  10. I debated applying for it but in the end I did not and stuck just with mph. Sounds interesting though! Maybe if I had had a bit more time to think about it I would have tried. Perhaps it's easier to get in to that program if there are fewer applicants.
  11. Hello! I'm a relatively new RN looking to advance my career with a MPH degree. I have a social sciences undergrad degree from before my BN as well, and I always knew public health was the general field I wanted to work towards. I'm really interested in policy development and hope to one day work for a government branch. I'm applying to UVictoria and UWaterloo for their online MPH programs. For financial reasons, and to continue gaining experience in the health care field, I wish to keep working as an RN in my rural town while I study, so full-time and on-campus programs were not feasible options for me. BTW, has anyone heard about the Waterloo Master in Health Evaluation program? I was so focused on the MPH degree, but the M.HE degree looks to be delivered in the same way and overall quite similar but just focused on evaluation of health projects and systems. I'm considering whether to throw that in the mix as well.
