  1. i called the the clinical psychology phd department at Rutgers, asking if the faculty have already sent out invites. they're having a meeting at 11am EST. ill call back later this afternoon. for the person who just posted a few minutes ago about an invite, could you please PM me who your POI was? ty
  2. what number did you dial? do you know who you spoke to? Rutgers itself is very confusing, so no worries.
  3. Day, singular? Lol. Amateur. Have been obsessed since my first invite on Dec 16. Nonstop checking, hundred+ times a day. Even while on vacation overseas where there's barely any internet.
  4. Hi, could you clarify what led you to say this? Did you ask about a specific POI or interview date? I called yesterday and was told they'd still take a while to review all the apps.
  5. Yeah I was on that page, read a PM telling me differently, then responded without reading the next page. I need to stop reading this forum on my phone. Knowledge is not power. It’s just anxiety here
  6. It is, lol. I posted on that thread saying the exact same thing. The fact that I was reminded of that thread is super ironic because it proves that no one reads that shit.
  7. Sometimes it's by lottery, too. 3 spots, 4 faculty, all want a student. And one of them can draw the short straw. Yeah, that's how I was rejected.
  8. Can those that received an interview invite from SDSU/UCSD JDP please DM me PI info? Congrats and thank you!
  9. Related. I listed them, but after a sentence like, "I also would like to... *1-2 sentences for match* v.s. paragraph of match for main POI
  10. Yeah, praying that NY/CA start allowing it. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/so-sue-me/201705/should-psychologists-be-allowed-prescribe-medication TLDR: Idaho, New Mexico, Louisiana, Illinois, and Iowa Oregon, Hawaii, and Texas have RxP legislation currently pending
  11. Yeah. Your chances are lower. I've been invited by secondary POIs before, but I have a feeling that's relatively rare.
  12. Don't start. You're going to make me cry. They make so much more money omfg.
  13. Hardest graduate area to get into (by acceptance rate%). One of the lowest income/time. Makes sense. Why do we do this to ourselves lol
  14. Just call. That way there isn't a permanent record of your impatience in someone's inbox. Be sure to post here when you do, thanks <3
  15. Falls in line with the whole, work for free for years to 'gain experience' in a good lab that's relevant to what you want to do, work for 15-25k a year in stipends for another 5 years just to get a PhD, and work for a salary that your friends were getting 2 years out of undergrad. You know. Screw the $50-100 that you spent on the application + hours researching and crafting a personal statement. Seriously. Lower ranked programs (if ranking is important) have dates on the same day, too. Like, yeah, shoot yourself in the foot by inviting students on the same day as a top 10 program. Let's see what candidates pick.
  16. This is an excellent question and especially helpful for people applying to American clinical psych programs which apparently have 40 different programs in the first week of Feb. Also eager to learn how y'all would frame it.
  17. Scared the shit out of me. Thought this was the clinical psych thread for a second.
  18. Lmfao. RIP. Hoping yours were outliers. Maybe there should be a poll about this but I don't care enough. Anecdotes are enough for me. Anxiety 24/7 I guess.
  19. What time do people usually receive email invitations? I'm sure we all experience anxiety checking our inboxes, but maybe we can all take a break when professors don't typically email applicants. For instance, have any professors contacted y'all after 5pm? (assume match between program + student time zone)? What about before 8am?
