  1. Two days after! I was accepted on Monday! But yeah, I’m glad it came so soon. Just wish it had been better news. ?
  2. If I had just myself to consider, I absolutely would, but I also have to consider my partner and what his job prospects will be wherever we move. Don’t you have very little control over where you get placed with those programs? Also, I feel like most of the deadlines for next year have already passed. I could be wrong though. I will look into it further.
  3. Just Tulane and it’s actually less than what Columbia offered if you consider the fact that it’s only for one year. ?
  4. I don’t have any other viable options for next year. I got into Tulane and Simmons as well, but Simmons only offered me loans, so I gave up on them back in March. Tulane only offered me 12,500, and only for the first year. That would leave me needing to take out at least 48k in loans to attend, which is far more than I personally am comfortable with considering I already have a sizable chunk of debt from undergrad. If Columbia doesn’t work out, which it most likely won’t, I’m most likely gonna take another year and apply to the University of Pittsburgh’s guaranteed admission program. My boyfriend and I are thinking of moving to Pittsburgh this summer since there are opportunities there for both of us. Technically the deadline hasn’t passed for this year but I called them today and they said that I won’t get a scholarship if I apply now, so I really have no choice but to either accept Columbia’s offer or wait and try again next year (which is what I’m leaning towards, in all honesty - I didn’t love Pittsburgh when we visited, but I can stomach it for three years if I have to). Sorry, that was probably an overexplanation, lol...
  5. Yeah, I’ve been thinking about it, but I’m two year so Idk if I can justify the high cost regardless. ? I feel you on the prestige thing for sure. I might try and appeal my financial aid decision. If I do, I’ll let you guys know how it goes.
  6. OMG, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! ??? I’m so incredibly happy for you!!!
  7. Nvm, just got the email. I got 11k, seems pretty standard for people on here. Ngl, I’m pretty sad. I guess this is one dream that’s not gonna become a reality. ?
  8. Also, does anyone know if they offer scholarships based on merit and need, or just merit?
  9. I hope so! I really want to know if this is at all feasible, haha.
  10. Thank you!! And was it about a week after you got in? Just curious!
  11. A question for those that have been admitted: how did you receive your financial aid information? Was it via email? They said it would be coming in about a week, and I just want to know what to be on the lookout for. Thanks!
  12. Thank you all so much!!! It still feels so surreal, haha. But I got another email saying congrats on my admission, so it's probably for real. Lol.
  13. Thank you so much, all! @Chebrutta I’m sorry it wasn’t the result you were hoping for, but it sounds like you’ve got a good thing going at NYU. Oh man. Thank you all so much for keeping me sane throughout this process, for real. <3 It was truly beginning to feel like it would never end...
  14. Thank you so much!!! My hands are shaking as I type this. I'm honestly worried it's some kind of mistake - didn't that happen with their graduate schools a few years ago? Holy crap, this is so wild. I am completely dumbfounded.
  15. Nothing for me either. I think all the priority folks on this thread at least have heard back, although I’m not *quite* obsessed enough to have kept an exact tally, haha. Not to jinx it, but I’m betting on next week, for real. I think the April 15th theory makes sense, although tbh Idk why they wouldn’t just waitlist us if we were otherwise qualified and they ran out of spots... does anyone have any insight on that one?
  16. Yeah, I was just kidding. I know there’s some of that involved in every job. I just don’t want it to be the main thing I’m doing, ya know? Hmm, that is super interesting! I guess we’ll know by next week whether that theory holds up!
  17. Mine is a lot better now that I’m off work! Although on the plus side, it is very motivating... here’s to going to grad school and hopefully never having to do physical labor again! ?
  18. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was June... nothing for me today. Anyone?
  19. I think you’re right. I just wish I knew what the date they’ve given people to reply by was... you think April 15th is a good bet?
  20. Ugh... I'm really hoping tomorrow will be the day. That'll be 8 weeks for me, and they did say 8-10... I just thought they couldn't possibly be serious.
  21. So... did anyone hear anything today? That blank space is taunting me...
