Hello!
Does anyone have ideas on how to thank your recommendors?
Each of my 3 recommendors submitted 11 letters each for me, so I feel like I need to do something more than just send a thank you email ?
I'm buying all of mine alcohol lol. I guess it depends on how close you are with them ?

It is with great pleasure that I get to say that I will be attending Bowling Green State University starting this Fall!

What is next week? Also still waiting on 2 schools and thinking about calling them Monday. Thoughts?
Not a bad idea!
Next week is the final week for decisions. All programs have to hear back from the people they gave an offer to by the 15th or else they'll rescind that offer and start pulling people from the waitlist. Most candidates - myself included - have held onto offers until the last second, and everyone is going to relinquish them all this week since it's the final week to do so. -

Hey, has anyone who was on a waitlist at any of the schools heard back from them yet? Just trying to figure out the timeline since it's April now..
I have, but it wasn't a decision - and it was only one program. Next week is literally ~the~ week though, so get ready!

I can only imagine the stress. If it helps I think next week people will start making their final decisions at least in my experience so try hanging in there and remember you only need 1 yes!
I have one yes, it just isn't the right fit for me is all.

Gosh, being waitlisted at 6 programs is tough.
Anyone else waiting until the last minute before making final decisions? -
Did Michigan State just release their results?
-
So I've received contact from all of the graduate programs I applied to. I'm at the weird point where now I have to wait for everyone else to make their decisions before anything changes on my end.
If any of y'all have offers from any of the programs I'm waitlisted at (found below), and you genuinely don't want to attend, I beg you to drop them!

Can anyone verify the Houston issue?

Houston will not be accepting students this year.
WHAT LOL

This is definitely going to be the longest week of this cycle lol. Waiting to hear back from a program where you just attended Open House is stressful ?
-
So I just got my first rejection from the University of Houston. Can't say I fit their typical admit in terms of GPA/GRE, so I'm not too surprised. Congrats to everyone who did get in though!

Also - I spoke with Dr. Sinclair from Clemson. They've made an initial round of offers, but expect at least one or two people to drop, meaning a few more offers might be given out. They plan on having the cohorts for both the Masters and Doctoral programs sorted out by the end of March.

Do you guys think a rocky phone call with your POI can seriously damage your standing within a short list?
I hit it off really well with my POI at Auburn during my initial interview, and got invited to open house weekend less than a day later. However, I spoke with them on the phone last week about research (pretty general questions/conversation topics) and I felt like it was a pretty rocky conversation from start to finish (i.e., stutters, accidental interruptions, slip ups [on both ends], etc.). I travel there tomorrow, so that conversation is weighing pretty heavily on my mind - especially since my POI won't be there for Open House Weekend.
Just wanted to know what y'all thought.

I know it's probably not a good idea but I feel much more attached to a program that accepted me right away compared to ones that I got off a waitlist. It's not rational but it feels good to a program firsts choice compared to a 9th choice.
A wise man once taught me that it's okay to not be someone's first choice.
You'll know the right place when the time comes to decide.

Did anyone else get a weird email from Clemson saying their application is being considered? It's just an email with "helpful links" but its the second time I've gotten it. First time was Jan 3rd...
Hopefully it's a sign that I'm still possibly considered? lol...
I got that email on the 17th of January, but I haven't gotten it since then. I remember seeing that someone got accepted in late January though, so I'm not sure what that means for all of us still waiting.

Got short-list waitlisted at my number one choice today (BGSU)! Feeling pretty good - although now I have to hope the people who have received offers already don't take them.
Has anyone heard from USF by chance?- Cronbachs Alpha and Joegeo

Anyone else attending Colorado State's recruitment weekend?
Not me!
... is anyone attending Auburn's visit weekend? -
-
Found out today I was waitlisted at UCF - I figured as much. I also figured I'd have a harder time getting in because I'm an undergraduate here and I feel like universities always desire a diverse cohort.
I'm considering applying to one or two masters programs as backups in case I don't get any offers. I actually do feel pretty confident about two universities I've applied to (Auburn & FIT), so there is that.
Congratulations to everyone accepted so far by the way. It's a major accomplishment and you all should be proud of yourselves!

Out of curiosity, is anyone else in this thread attending Bowling Green?
