  1. Still can't find any clues. I am sure there are people who have applied last year and have gone through the recommendation process. Could anyone possibly answer this question?
  2. My understanding is that they receive emails to submit LoRs. But along with the LoRs, I heard they are asked several questions, such as how do you know the applicant; how long have you known the applicant, etc. What exactly do they ask to the recommenders and what should I tell them (some are not professors and have no experience in writing LoRs) to expect? Are they also given an evaluation form –often a grid assessing your leadership traits, etc. – like MBA schools do? Thanks,
  3. HCI (Human Computer Interaction) or IxD (Interaction Design) programs, which are known be professional ones, are getting more and more competitive each year. Here I mean the programs which aim to educate future UX designers. Some of the top schools are CMU, GaTech, UW, etc. Since these programs have different natures to other more academic programs, I think it's worth sharing information with the applicants! Some of the general advice about grad school application does not apply to this study. But I don't see any HCI or IxD forum anywhere! I thought it could be in the following three categories: 1) Interdisciplinary 2) Professional 3) Computer Science Since each school's HCI program belong to different colleges (some in CS, others in Design/ ischool, etc.) I think it's most appropriate to belong to Interdisciplinary. But where is it? How can I create one?
  4. I have the same question as well! I am not worried about my idea being stolen but concerned if they would question the compatibility! But in my case I'm applying to HCI programs which are more professional than academic.
  5. It's great that you got admitted to UCL! Would you mind sharing your background a little bit please? Congrats again!
