I'm not sure I need an SLP-A certification but it seems to be the trend that most applicants have it. This field has become highly competitive. I'm not sure about your question regarding having your BA completed. I imagine as long as you are done before the program starts is OK. Definitely contact someone at CSUN to find out though!

@KEIM They usually open April 1 of each year and close June 1 of each year. As far as I can tell. Holy cow. I don't think things look good for me considering I seem to be the only one who didn't receive the email. I've definitely scoured Spam and All Mail in my inboxes. I seem to maybe need to get an SLP-A certificate. When I was in school more than 10 years ago, those weren't commonplace.

What are your stats? It's hard to say. I consider myself an average candidate and I didn't receive it. Good luck to you! Let me know how it goes for you.

Yeah I think I'll take a closer look at what the MAT is all about and try getting some volunteering in somewhere. I just did a result search using Cal State Northridge as the school search. And in general the survey email was sent out and the admission decision was about a week later from what I found.

I'm not a California resident. I live in Colorado. I've been out of school 10 years since I recieved my B.S. in Com Dis and Linguistics from University of Colorado Boulder. My GPA in school was low, right around a 3.2 but I've taken about 4 classes since then and my Post Bac GPA is 4.0. I scored relatively high around 160 on the GRE verbal. Not fantastic on the quant. I have been an Accent Reduction coach under an SLP for over 10 years. I've worked with hundreds of clients. My LOR are from a professor, an SLP, and a client of mine who is the CEO of a hospital system. Honestly with all my working experience, I thought I had a decent chance. Still no email as of this morning. Looking back through previous acceptances on this site shows that most were given the interview survey before admission. I think that is a super great sign for you. Let me know how it goes! I didn't apply to any other schools. Since I have a couple of kiddos at home and another on the way, a part-time online school is the only way for me to go! My husband told me to not give up hope until I get that darn rejection email so I'm holding onto a thread ?

No email today either. Hmm. I can only assume that most likely means I am not in the running. Trying to stay positive though. Fingers crossed for you!

Hi! I did not receive the email today. I'll let you know if I end up receiving it tomorrow. I'm not sure if that is a bad sign for me. Hope not!

I check the portal daily too! Last year, they announced admission results on Oct 27th. The year before that they announced on Oct 26th. And the year before that on Oct 30th. So I think it is safe to assume we won't hear anything until the end of the month! I've put all my eggs in this basket so I am super anxious to get in. ? Anyone else get an update email from the graduate assistant of the program saying the application has been sent to faculty for review?

I noticed that! For a long time, the website said June 1...then it all of a sudden switched to June 4. Strange. How many schools did you guys apply to? I am pretty sure I saw stats somewhere that in recent years they generally receive around 280 applicants and accept 60 of them. Wishing good luck to all of us:)

I do too! Mine says it is in department review. It's going to be a long summer if it takes them until October to make decisions.
