It’s all so confusing. I wish we got Z score metrics reported. Receiving 5 E’s and one VG and getting honorable mention while others report G’s and VG’s and getting awarded is intriguing to say the least

First year Master’s student applying in evolutionary biology. Received honorable mention. Checked reviews today - E/VG, E/E, E/E! Honestly was proud of the honorable mention but seeing my reviews makes me wonder how close I was to being awarded. The one “very good” said my potential broader impacts are significant but another sentence or two would be needed. It’s even worse to get so close ???

No seriously though what is the "fellowship admin" you speak of? Are there people on your campus dedicated to fellowship application support? If so, that is an amazing resource to have! I worked on my application by myself, with some review from my PI. Maybe this is why I got honorable mention lol

The main page for the GRFP mentions April 29th once the final decisions for acceptance are made, the reviews will be available

No matter what happens tonight, all of you are valuable members of the scientific community and your research is important in some way. This is a very competitive fellowship and not getting awarded in no way means you are not worthy! Positive vibes only for the rest of the night.

Interesting! I checked with my friend on the GRFP (shes one lab over) and she is sending in monthly updates. I'm not sure if this is a new requirement or something they only make MS students do? It is definitely a monthly update for her though

The feedback I have heard from a student at my school on the GRFP currently is that you send in a monthly "update summary" with details on project updates and outreach events done ect. However, it seems to be a very informal update with basic details

I have emailed and called the NSF contacts and I get very vague answers that do not tell me either way. My university transcript only lists the total units transferred from community college and not the classes themselves. I can easily access a PDF copy of my community college transcripts, so I am wondering if I should upload those as a precaution. Also worried, that might get me auto DQ though.

Question regarding transcripts: The program solicitation states for transcript uploading: "Baccalaureate institution(s): If you attended more than one institution for your baccalaureate career (e.g., you attended another institution before transferring to your baccalaureate institution), list only the degree-granting institution, provided any transfer credits appear on your baccalaureate institution's transcript." I attended community college before transferring to my baccalaureate institution (the uni that granted my degree). The question I have here relates to the last sentence in that statement. My baccalaureate institution lists the amount of units that I transferred from community college to my university, but it DOES NOT list the grades along with them. Would I need to submit a separate transcript for my community college in this case? Also my university doesn't factor my community college grades into their GPA, meaning I have a GPA for community college and an entirely separate GPA for my university. When listing my GPA, would I need to factor in both GPA's in order for it to be truly cumulative? Thanks to everyone in this forum I havent posted much but it has been a great resource to follow.
