  2. Omg, I had to track down mine, but they finally finished and submitted them for me. Now im worried about them getting my transcript in time even though I sent it a few days ago lol
  3. I have not, although I know the deadline isnt until 12/31 so im not sure how many people they reach out to before the deadline has actually approached
  4. yes! I submitted today and I'm already antsy! Some of my programs are rolling admission though so fingers crossed I hear back sooner rather than later. The holidays are going to be full of suspense.
  5. I submitted my application today! Does anyone know if they offer any good fellowships/assistantships? Also wondering how long it usually takes for an admission decision. I'm already so antsy!
  6. I only decided to submit my GRE scores for schools I was trying to get a fellowship at since you have to pay for everything past four schools.
  7. While writing my statements of purpose, I talked about both broad and specific research interests. I have done research with one of my professors regarding prognosis awareness in hospice patients and my ultimate goal is to work in palliative care. I emphasized how I love the palliative care and hospice research, but I also talked about how important research in healthcare in general is. I also think it depends on the program you are applying to. Since im applying for my MSW, they want to know about a social problem that is important to me. I talked about the rising costs of healthcare and how I can help patients in all aspects as a social worker. One of the schools I'm applying to actually has a research field specifically geared towards palliative/hospice so I made sure to include that in my statement. I think looking up various important research that is being done at whatever University you are applying to helps as well as it personalizes your statement and shows that school would be a good fit for you.
  8. I am graduating with my undergraduate degree in December of 2018 with a double Biology/Medical Sociology major. I am pursuing my masters in social work because I want to continue in the medical sociology field and work in a hospital but don't want to do a PhD program. I would absolutely love to find a duel degree that included a sociology masters, but schools that even offer sociology masters program without having to complete a PhD are almost impossible to find. I was just wondering if anyone else knew any schools with solid sociology masters programs or anyone in the same boat as me!
