Friendly reminder that if you’re an applicant, even if it’s your second year of applying, you have absolutely no right to tell someone that a piece of their application must be weak if they aren’t getting offers. That’s not how the clinical psych world works. There are more competitive applicants than there are spots, so a lot of it is luck. Social capital also comes into play, so check your privilege. End rant.

I saw someone got an email from the DCT from University of Alabama Birmingham Clinical/Medical Psych inviting him/her to an interview.  I saw that last year, invites were not sent out until the new year, so I was wondering if anyone else got an interview from them or had any info on that.

I  believe UPenn also has one as well as the American College in (of?) Greece.

Should look at job listings at different universities. Many labs are looking for lab managers and research specialists and that's often the postbac path to building one's resume for psychology grad school admissions. Anna Schapiro at UPenn for instance is looking right now for a lab manager/research specialist.

Hello! The university of Pittsburgh has an excellent psychology post bacc program!! It’s so amazing - I attended this one. I’ve also heard that Northwestern, UC Berkeley and UC Irvine and more. I started my search for post baccs using apa - https://www.apa.org/ed/precollege/psn/2014/09/post-baccalaureate.aspx hopefully this helps! 

To everyone who is worried about GRE scores and whether or not some schools would even consider you as an applicant if you don't have a score above threshold X, please treat yourselves better throughout this time and pay little mind to those who would have you believe that it's either a great GRE score or failure.

Most programs consider applicants on a holistic basis; if you have low GRE scores but make up for it in another area (i.e. LOTS of research experience, great recommendations, etc.) you may still have a chance at getting in. This is my third application cycle and I've retaken the GRE each year, scored higher, and then still haven't gotten in (on top of having high undergrad and masters GPAs, good recs, and 3 years experience in an experimental psychology lab). Seems to really be a case by case basis! Don't give up hope, it takes most people multiple application cycles to get an offer.
