I got this offer too. I first read 30k and was like "oh wow that sounds good!" and then I kept reading and I was like "oh wow....that's....not even half what I will need....." No thanks, man. I can get deep dish pizza anywhere anyway.

I'll be there for sure. Still looking for a flight and lodgings for my partner and I, but I've secured the time off work. Never been to Charlottesville. It looks pretty gorgeous though. I'm excited to check it out.

Upenn, Brown, and Yale are my last 3, but I really only feel anxious about Penn because the fit feels pretty good for me. Also, as a fellow UVA admit, are you planning to go to the visiting days (which are, strangely, a Monday-Tuesday)?

A buddy of mine was accepted into Davis's Ph.D. about 3 years ago now. He posts pics of his cohort all the time. There's about 7 or 8 of em I think.

Like I said awhile ago...I called the dept at chicago awhile ago. Most of their acceptances have not yet been given out according to the woman on the phone. All "dept recommendations" have left the dept, but very few have thus far been formally admitted. As in...if you interviewed, there's still a good bit of hope.

Just called the dept in order to ascertain whether we all ought to call out of work and get drunk about not getting to live in Hyde Park. The girl on the phone said that decisions weren't in all cases finalized though most have left the hands of the dept. After they leave the dept they have to be approved by whoever formally grants admission. Sooo...expect more acceptances over today and tomorrow. Good news maybe? For somebody I suppose lol.

Warelin mentioned yesterday that typical cohort size for JH is 5. Since two are on the board and someone said on another thread that their friend got one also I think it's safe to assume they've all gone out. Perhaps not waitlist though?

Maybe the email went out already...and just none of us got it. hahaha. =/
