no word on any of them there have been a couple penn. state acceptances but none for rhet/comp

anyone claiming the Penn State MA acceptance? they’re rolling them out in such a strange way

It's tempting to feel like this, but try to remember that none of the acceptances/rejections are connected. Each program is different; different profs, different focuses, different admissions committee, different funding. One rejection doesn't automatically imply another. Try to stay positive! ❤️

That sounds refreshing, and the travel sounds so exciting. This past summer I worked as a lifeguard for my local pools, and I can't tell you how nice the break was from an academic job setting/working a 9-5. With whatever you end up choosing, I wish you all the best

Same here. I've been checking, but no status change/email. Might've just been someone who typed in the wrong school or wanted us all to sweat a little bit haha.

Just realized there was a Penn. State acceptance on the board from Feb. 1? Anyone?? I thought Penn. State was a much later decision. Anyone claim this? Or has anyone else heard anything? or is this a rogue..

this is my boy, Kratos. he turned 5 today (second adoption anniversary). he says congrats and good luck to everyone and not to stress too much

Happy to say I've just received my official acceptance from Texas A&M! (currently finishing my master's here) That first acceptance feels good.

I heard back from MSU almost immediately. Rejection email around Dec. 10, not even a two-week turn around lol :')

anyone else not able to focus during class and instead keeps obsessively refreshing email/portals? : )

In 2017, I was accepted to my MA and waitlisted for funding also, and ended up receiving the equivalent funding everyone else received (GA>TA). Don't lose hope!

yay! i was just talking about this on another thread yesterday. So far, MSU-rejection, UT Austin-waitlist, still waiting on Penn State, Chapel Hill, and Texas A&M (alma mater). UT is definitely my top choice, so I'm hoping for some movement there. Staying in Texas is really important/necessary for me, so fingers crossed! Congrats on your acceptances so far Looking forward to seeing the rest of the rhet/comp applicants come out of the woodwork hehe

Hi all, I'm currently waitlisted at UT Austin for their Rhetoric/DLL concentration. This is my top choice so fingers crossed for some movement *ahhhh*!! I applied several other places (haven't heard back from them yet), but staying in Texas is really important/necessary for me, so I'm holding on to the hope that a spot opens up!

i think so too! we might have to start a rhet/comp 2019 forum! i saw the 2018 one, but i noticed (or just couldn't find) that there's not a 2019 one. it seems like there's so few of us or we're getting lost amongst the lit. people!

ah! my people have emerged! i'm also in the MSU rejection boat (michigan is too cold for me anyway hehe), sorry to hear about your others I'm waitlisted at UT Austin, still waiting to hear back from Chapel Hill and Penn State.

Anyone accepted to the Rhetoric or DLL concentration? I seem to only see Lit. acceptances here.
