When I googled it was around $20,000 and I was planning on applying for residency to get in-state tuition the following year. For me it's reasonable! Did you get in anywhere else?
-
YAY! Thank goodness it is going fast, I hate how most programs drag this process out for months. (I understand why they need to, but waiting is so draining.) Glad to hear your interview went well! Out of curiosity, If you guys are accepted, will you accept their offer?
-
Has anyone asked when we should be hearing back about acceptances/rejections?
-
Thank you for the clarity @JordanBroz and @VS-SLP2B! I feel better now about it, can't wait until we hear back from them!
-
Thank you! I mean it is a mandatory part of becoming an accredited, every school has to go through this stage and there are several students that graduate from new programs and have jobs. But I am still concerned, I have looked it up on ASHA and I believe we are still protected. One of my professors got her master's at a community college -- yes I know, I was shocked too when I first found out -- around the 80's. The community system doesn't even have BA/BS degrees anymore, let alone a master's.... BUT she has her CCC's and license... working and is teaching.

Hi all! Since FMU is under candidacy for accreditation, should I be concerned with going here (if I get accepted)? I understand that every program must go through a candidacy period and that many students have graduated from programs that have yet to receive accreditation and they manage to still find jobs/etc. But, are their potential problems/concerns with programs under candidacy?

I don't feel comfortable with sharing the scenarios because I don't think it will be fair for the people that have already interviewed. But they are not complicated and it's common sense! Don't worry you got this! ???

Love your positive attitude. I can tell you will be an amazing SLP because of that optimism alone. Good luck with everything!!!
-
I completely understand when interviews are short you have no idea what to expect lol. No they didn't, I should've asked! I'm sure it will be quick though, they got back to me very quickly for an interview. Good luck on your interview!

Hi everyone! I just finished my interview and it was very relaxed, I would say the overall feeling/vibe is that they are just trying to get to know you. 2 scenario questions and then you can ask questions. Good luck to us all! ??

I have been looking around on gradcafe and it seems like there is no information about the interview process. Hopefully we find out soon!

Chances of getting in on waitlist?
nguyen16041 replied to nguyen16041's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
Yes, I completely agree. I have received many rejections... but nothing worse than waitlist (for my anxiety at least) because everything is STILL up in the air and I don't want to get my hopes up too high. Thanks so much! I will update you once I know ☺️ Being in this forum does give me a lot of anxiety, but at the same time so much peace because there's other people that are going/have gone through the same thing. I feel like were I get the most anxious is the results page.... I start checking my emails to see if I got anything ? Oh and as for self-care: I purchased a membership at the gym! Hopefully I can tire myself out so I can get some sleep ?- 9 replies

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. You have no idea how much this has helped me. It gave me a lot of hope! ??? It has definitely been an uphill battle, so much anxiety and stress over this. But, on the upside only a few more weeks before I know! Thanks so much again for your insight! ☺️??- 9 replies

Dang, that's not a bad number at all! I just wonder how many people they have on their waitlist. ? I know how much they take varies every year, but I am just hoping for some good news. I am just a little nervous because it is a state school, I can't imagine people want to turn it down.
-
I got waitlisted too. ? Does anyone know how many they typically take from their waitlist?

Hi everyone! Does anyone know if CSU Chico speech pathology/communication disorders master's program is sending out their interview in waves or do they send it all at once?
