I wouldn't decline the seat at the accepted school because you really don't know where you are on the waitlist of your top 2 schools. I wouldn't take that risk unless you know for sure you'll get in the other 2 schools and really have no interest in going to the accepted school. A friend of mine got off the waitlist to her top school the day after submitting her deposit but she chose to decline the offer so you really never know.

My understand is it means you are in the first batch of people on the wait-list that the program would send acceptances to as soon as someone declines their offer of attendance. 

I have to accept a program right now but I will drop out if I get taken off the waitlist from my no. 1 ? school.

My gues is there will be a lot of waitlist action on 8/15 and the couple days after as students have made there final decisions and departments get organized.  Good luck！

When I was on the waitlist I emailed the person in charge of admissions and told them it was my top choice and if I got in I would 100% accept my spot. I knew I was high on the waitlist so I’m not sure if the email did anything to help. But it’s a good idea to remind them that you’re still interested 

What are some suggestions? Do I follow up with anyone, I don't want to be redundant and harass? I have to make a deposit at another school and register for the Fall term but I want to attend the school I'm wait listed for!
