I was accepted to UNC's PhD in Epidemiology program! I can't believe it! DREAM SCHOOL!

Rejected from both Harvard PHS Epi and BU Epi PhD programs today. Expected, but still stings. Hopefully some good news is to come!

One of them was mine! I think last year it was definitely a trickle -- there were acceptances starting in Jan and going through March, I think (you could look back at the results page for last year). So I wouldn't be concerned if you haven't heard, especially considering there are only 3 acceptances posted and I think they take a relatively large cohort.
As a side note, there was no funding information included in the letter. It said those decisions are made separately and we will be contacted if we receive funding.
Congratulations! May I ask about about your indicated interest area(s)? Curious if anyone in injury received a decision.

For those that were accepted or waiting for possible admits to programs that don’t interview: How are you evaluating these programs and determining if you’ll accept, especially since visits aren’t happening?
Im waiting for one such school that I *think* doesn’t interview (University of Arizona) and am wondering how to assess for fit.
I was accepted to a program that doesn't interview. The admit letter states that the faculty member who leads the research center I named in my application will be reaching out to me soon to discuss. So that conversation will probably help, and I'll also ask about getting in contact with some current students in the program. I'll also be discussing with my own mentors. I know the research center is an excellent fit with my research interests already, so that's great. But the rest of it kind of depends on how I feel about my conversations with people.

WOW That is a very quick turnaround deadline! I wonder if an extension could be requested. That doesn't seem to be fair for accepted students when many other schools haven't made the final decisions yet!
Yep. It is quite early. ?

Awesome! Like I said, so happy for you and congratulations. Hopefully I hear something good soon, too
I hope you do too! If it helps, they are requiring an accept/decline by February 15. So I expect there will be a second batch of acceptances after that date for students who don't take the offer.

Did you apply to the MH program at JHU?
Yes. It is a reach program for me though, I do not have a master's degree.

I applied for the mental health program at JHU. I didn’t receive an interview, should I assume that I was rejected and move on?:(
I am in the same place. Hopefully we are still under consideration!

Omg, CONGRATS!! I found another forum and heard people are getting their acceptances!! I haven't heard anything and no changes to my portal. I've been checking my email like crazy. What time did you hear back? So exciting
Around 4:30 PM MST. I imagine that different departments will release decisions at different times! Fingers crossed for you!
MS Epidemiology at Drexel just came through with an acceptance as well!

Hey!! Congrats on acceptance to Michigan. We overlap with Columbia, although I applied to the Population and Family health. Also applied to NYU, UCLA, USC, Brown. Was hesitant with UMich...maybe I will. Also considering BU! Anyway, good luck- let me know when you hear back! Super eager to hear from Columbia.
Hey! Heard back from Columbia and was accepted. Did you hear back from them as well?
-
Hi there!
I applied to MPH programs in Epidemiology or Epidemiology/Biostatistics at Berkeley, Columbia, WUSTL, and UMich. I've been accepted at UMich and have not yet heard back on the others.
I also applied to MS programs at Harvard and Drexel and PhD programs at Harvard, BU, Brown, NYU, JHU, and UNC. No word on any of those either.

Has anyone heard from UNC PhD in epi program ? Does anyone if they conduct interviews?
I also applied to this program and haven't heard back, but it's a reach program for me.

I just emailed the admission office of Brown (Epi). They told me that the admissions committee have decided to invite a certain number of applicants to participate in their upcoming Recruitment Day days ago. Applicants without any notifications would not be considered any further. So sad. Good luck to those picked ones! Let's look forward to other programs.
Ah, thank you for posting this. I was wondering if Epi was included in that group of invites. Oh well. I'd rather just get a rejection!

Rejected from Yale's PhD in Chronic Disease Epidemiology - no email notification, just a random login on the portal showed an update today.
I only have one more application yet to make a decision and it's the only one that I think I would have trouble deciding compared to my offer in hand.
