I know interview season just started but.. is anyone else feeling super impatient post interviews??

I just finished my first interview. I can't speak for all programs, but this one made visiting day so easy. It was relaxed yet professional and informational. If you haven't been to any interviews yet, just know that it's not anywhere near as scary as you are thinking it is. You've got this!

My interview weekend is Thursday and Friday of this week and I haven't received any details. Do they normally wait this late to send more information? Should I email them tomorrow to ask?

So I dyed my hair purple last semester for fun while I had a few months where I could. Over Christmas break I dyed my hair brown but you can kinda see a tint of the purple again. Should I dyed my hair again?? Does a tint matter? I don't know if they'd even notice.

Y'all.. not gonna lie I'm scared I have my first and only interview a week from now and I'm stressed. I want to the know run down of the schedule and I want to know when I need to arrive at the grad student's house and I'm also nervous about staying with a grad student?? Like I have all of these what ifs in my head and I know it'll all be okay no matter what as long as I make it back home alive and whatnot but is anyone else just a little scared? Also I'm such an awkward little bean and I really hope they like awkward beans..

Lol yes! I'm also looking at hoodies and stuff for the school as well ? The interview isn't until next week but I just want to know if I'm going to be accepted or not already! Ahh!!

So I emailed a school that has already sent out interview invites for an upcoming interview to ask about my application status. They told me that there is a chance that more applicants could be interviewed depending on how the interview weekend goes in February. How often do they actually interview more people?? I'm kinda stressed? Like I almost would rather just know if it's a rejection already.

I'm mostly concerned because my skin decided now would be a great time to breakout really badly and I don't know if I should try to cover up the acne or if it would even matter? Life happens man and sometimes adults get acne too.. haha

This was along the lines that I was thinking as well. I don't want to wear just a white button up with a black pantsuit, that's just not my style. Personally I love the idea of the patterned or colored blazer as long as it's obviously not hot pink or neon green. Go for it!

I know this might seem silly to ask, but I NEVER wear makeup. I don't really know how to do it and my skin is really sensitive to it. But is it kinda the norm or expected for women to wear makeup to things like this? I feel like in 2020 it shouldn't matter but I thought I would get your opinions??

Okay so I emailed one of my top choices since their invites are usually mass emails. The coordinator just said that the initial wave has been sent out but to email the director to ask about my place on the waitlist and whatnot. But, the director is also my PI who I've emailed with. How do I word an email asking about status? I don't want to sound pushy or rude but I would like to know. Should I email him?

I'm pretty sure I have rejections from the rest of the schools I haven't heard from, but the fact that I don't know for sure sucks. I hate having a sliver of hope if it's definitely not happening.

Hi all, I hope everyone is holding up well and that your holidays are going well. I have one interview invite so far, which is far more than I expected as a first time applicant in undergrad. But, I'm finding myself getting attached to this program, I really like the school, the location, and the PI's research. How do I not get attached? I know there's still so many factors involved for the selection of the final person. Also, my PI may not be able to accept a student, and may not know until after interviews are over. I just don't want to get TOO excited and be more sad than normal later on. Any tips?

Do people ever send out invites on Saturdays? Or is that a time to stop checking websites compulsively?

I've been pretty active on this site today.. sorry if you're tired of seeing my posts, haha! But, should I be in touch with my POI between an interview invite and the interview? They gave me their cell phone number and their email and said I could ask them questions. I don't know what questions to ask at this point? I obviously want to know the details about interview weekend but it's still so early that asking about those things seems too early. I also just want to let them know how excited I am about their program, but emailing that without a question feels weird as well. I know I'm over thinking it but I really like this program.

Is a mass email kinda "one and done"? Like that's it?

A mass email was sent to my top school according to the results page and now I'm very stressed that that means I'm out for that school.

Does the mass email from Auburn on the results page mean all invites from Auburn have gone out? Do they do all of them at once? Or all for one POI?

This is my first year applying, is there a certain time of day when invites are more likely to go out?
