  1. Has anyone heard from University of Memphis post-interview?
  2. Congratulations!!! Could you DM me your POI?
  3. Has anyone heard from the University of New Mexico or from Northwestern at Evanston? I know they both have March interview dates and was curious if anyone had gotten an interview. Thanks!
  4. We just got hit by a huge snow and ice storm overnight and it is supposed to continue all day. I am supposed to fly out to interview at my top choice tomorrow morning, and as of right now the airport, (which is tiny) is shutdown. What do I do if I can't fly out? It is a 13 hour drive in good weather, I don't think I could make it there in time. Any advice?
  5. Has anybody by chance heard from New Mexico (Albuquerque)?
  6. Any advice on what to wear to an interview? Especially if pant suits are really unflattering to your figure?
  7. I am currently an undergrad, and will send in my first applications for Child/Clinical Psychology PhD programs next week. I graduate in May (2020) with a BA in Psychology, a BA English, and a minor in American Sign Language from the Honors College at my University. I have a 3.95 GPA, 154 in Quantitative, and a 157 in Verbal, and a 4.0 in writing on the GRE. I have been working in a child psych lab for nearly two years, and I have joined another child psych lab this August. I have one poster where I am third author, a poster submitted to SPP where I am first author, and another currently being proposed where I will be third author. I try to volunteer as much as I can and have been a part of PSI CHI for over a year. I know clinical psychology is the most competitive field. My GREs aren't great, and I don't have anything more than a few posters and lab experience. Applying is expensive and I currently have a list of 18 programs I am interested in. Am I wasting my money?
  8. Hi! Growing up I have had multiple chronic illnesses that have shaped my life. In recent years I have been able to be a full time college student without the illnesses getting in the way. After getting my PhD I want to work with children with chronic illness and other health issues. Some mentors have told me to include my health history in my personal statement while others have warned me to avoid it at all cost. Since it directly relates to my research interest and future career goals, should I include my medical history in my application? Thanks!

  10. Hey, I am finishing my Junior year to get my B.A. in psychology (with another B.A. in English and a minor in American Sign Language), and I want to start my working towards my PHD in clinical psychology with a focus on children and health in the Fall of 2020. My GPA is currently a 3.969, and I will be graduating from my school's honor college. I will be taking my GREs this summer. I have been working in a Pediatric Health Psych lab and have been involved with many different health studies. However, I haven't done a poster or paper of my own, though I will be third author on a paper summer. I want to eventually work with children with chronic illnesses. Additionally, I have training and am a leader for The Body Project, and volunteer with the National Eating Disorder Association in the city I go to school in. I am involved with PSI CHI, and I teach at a STEM camp for adolescents every summer since I was 16 (now 23). I worked with an autism unit in a middle school for 6 years, as a teenager, before college, as well as a social behavioral skills program and a life skills program at the same school. I continue to volunteer at the autism research center at my university. It took me three extra years to graduate high school, due to my own life long chronic illness, and am anxious not to move straight into my PHD after graduation. There are some masters programs I am interested in as a fallback. Do ya'll think I have a chance at getting into a PHD program if I apply this Fall? Thanks!
