  1. Just accepted to University of Washington's clinical psychology PhD program!
  2. I am so sorry that you had that experience! We all know how expensive this process is and to actively spend more money on a school that makes it clear they want another applicant is frustrating. I hope your other interviews go better!
  3. I bought a journal a few days ago titled "I'm So Freaking Freaked Out" which perfectly describes myself during this process. Helps to be able to write my worst fears down, but still doesn't prevent me from checking my email 20x a day!!! What's worse is anticipating a school to reach out to applicants for interviews on a specific day based on data from previous years and.... silence. Nonetheless, wishing everyone a great, stress-free weekend!
  4. First of all — congrats on the interviews! I talked to several people who were applying to medical school and PhD programs last year for Fall 2019 and the individuals that had 4+ interviews always mentioned how overwhelmed they were. From the cost of flights, to traveling, to missing work and having to play catch-up afterwards, they hated it! At the end of the day, it really is about fit, so definitely decline any offer for a school that you don’t see yourself at for the sake of your sanity. Mental health is VERY important through this process. Good luck!
  5. Quick question — Does anyone have experience with applying to a program and then subsequently getting invited for an interview by a faculty member (who is accepting students) that they didn’t mention in their PS or on their application? Wondering how that worked out and how offered this occurred.
  6. School: University is Missouri - St. Louis Type: Clinical PhD Date of invite: December 31st Type of invite: Email Interview date(s): Jan 31st Feel free to DM for POI. Best news before the new year. Happy New Year everyone!
  7. I did after my Skype interview! I mainly wanted to assure the PI that I was still interested after speaking with them. My POI mentioned during the call that if I was no longer interested in the research lab to let her know, so instead I made sure to let her know that I still was interested and thanked her for her time.
  8. Hey everyone! A little nervous here. My PI uploaded his LOR, but didn’t submit** the LOR for four schools with application deadlines on Dec 1. I contacted him about it today, and he successfully submitted one, but ran into the same problem with the other three. Are schools lenient on when LORs are received and allow a two-day grace period? I know that because all three letters are not uploaded, the application is considered “incomplete” and it is past the deadline. Especially worried because without those three schools, the number of schools I “applied” to is very low. Thanks!
