  1. Oh Thank you so much!!! I got in touch with one of the graduate administrators and he clarified the details to me. The test center I sat for the IELTS exam had a different address in their system. I wonder if it'll be okay if I send the test scores now though. Cuz in the McGill Uni site they had mentioned that all supporting documents must be received by the 15th of January I submitted my application on the 20th of December and tried contacting the university regarding this matter and they replied to my mails only on the 17th of Jan!!!
  2. @Findingapurpose Since you stated that you applied to McGill Uni do you know anything about this?
  3. @Findingapurpose Thank you so much for the info. Probably! Might have to wait until mid-march to see if I'm accepted or not,

Oh! So you've gotten an offer from a Uni so that mean you are safe.

Hahaha... Yup you too... Hope everything works out well and just as you want it to be.

  10. Okay so I am literally freaked out now because I am not getting any updates from the universities!!! Not even whether my application is completed properly or what so ever. Application status just says submitted except for University of Manitoba that says that my application is under review in the department!!! Is this normal? Anyone out there can help me?

P.S. I have applied mostly to Canadian universities

  11. Does anyone know how I should send my IELTS TRF scores to McGill? There isn't a section to upload my scores nor is my test centre able to send the scores electronically.
  12. Hi all, Here are the list of universities I have applied for, under pending results considering studies in M.Sc. in Statistics. Could you please be kind enough to review my profile and leave comments on whether or not I stand a chance? Type of Student: International South Asian Female Undergraduate Institution: Top 5 Sri Lankan University Degree: B.Sc. Special (Honours) Degree in Mathematics Majors: Pure Mathematics and Statistics Cumulative GPA: 3.76 Subject GPA: Pure Mathematics: 4.00/4.00 and Statistics: 3.79/4.00 Awards: Dean's List Research Experience: Supervised undergraduate research IELTS score: 8.0 (L - 9.0 | S - 8.5 | R - 7.5 | W - 6.5) GRE General Test: 300 (Verbal: 145 | Quantitative: 155 | AWA: 3.5) Letter of Recommendation: 3 Academic references from lecturers Applying Term: Fall 2020 Schools that I have applied to: University of British Columbia (1st choice) McGill University University of Victoria University of Alberta University of Manitoba Texas Tech University (US) Programs: M.Sc. in Statistics (Biostatistics) Would appreciate it if anyone could offer their opinion on my odds of being admitted! Any other suggestions are also greatly appreciated especially regarding teaching assistantships and funding opportunities. Thank you so much in advance! Note: Up to now I only received an update from the University of Manitoba stating that my application is complete and it is under review in the Department.
  13. @captivatingCA Thank you so much. Yes Canadian universities do not require GRE score. I had to take that exam because I will be applying to just one US university as well. Texas Tech. Asking just out of curiosity since I see that we are in the same field. Does Texas A & M have Biostatistics?
  14. Well based on your choices of Universities I'm certain that you are trying for ranked universities. Well I could possibly say that you are in the same position as I am. I'm considering applying for MS in Statistics for the Fall Term 2020. These are the universities I have applied for UBC/ McGill/ Victoria/ Alberta/ Manitoba. Reasons for applying to the above universities - Tuition cost + cost of living are pretty decent compared to the rest of the universities and these universities are ranked. In addition to those I would also suggest considering applying to Saskatchewan and if you want to be on the safe side you could also possibly apply to Newfoundland because I am not quite sure how far you can get by with your GPA since the above schools required at least 3.3, so I recommend that you contact supervisors since you've mentioned your research is standard, get in touch with them and then move further. Moreover I'd also like to mention that if you do find a potential supervisor at any of the universities you are interested I suggest you take a chance and apply to it regardless of the application fee. Because as far as I know without applying to a university you never know if you stand a chance or not unless you have previously assured that a supervisor is willing to accept you so go for it!!! P.S. Don't worry you'll stand a chance!!! Good luck...
