Trying to focus on the positive of getting 1 clinical psych PhD invite on my first round, but can’t help but feel like a failure due to the rejections and slim chance I have at acceptance into this one school this year.. Ughhhhh I hope this interview weekend goes perfectly

I 100% agree!! Same boat. Good luck! My interview is at the end of the February and is the only one I’ve gotten. I only applied to 5 schools but I had been (mistakenly) hopeful.

  2. I've been finding a lot of my stress is coming from comparing myself to other candidates, especially on this site (even though I just found it yesterday morning - oops).

One thing I'm trying to work on is reminding myself that we are all from different backgrounds and lives and it isn't even possible to accurately compare any of us.

I'm also applying straight out of undergrad and I am quickly realizing that most people don't seem to take that route and I need to be easier on myself overall.

A current graduate student working with a POI who's invited me to interview reached out via email to answer any questions I may have before the interview. I don't think I have any questions, but am interested in hearing what y'all might ask that could be useful to know before interviews.

*I really want to ask "How many people is he interviewing and for how many slots?" Lol, I know that isn't appropriate, but it's my only burning question.*

Do you mind if I ask if this was for UNT? Because I got a very similar email!

I'm going to read over my POI's research and try and come up with any questions like what current projects really entail, different time commitments, balancing life, etc etc. Skills that have been picked up on.
