Wow..... As an international student who applied to Yale Biostat PhD program this is making me really mad.. Why didn't they let the applicants know of this earlier? If they had not planned to recruit any international students, they should have made it very clear from the get go. I feel like the least they can do at this point is refund my money for the application.

Here are some things which come to mind when I think about these programs. Of course, this is based on my observations (and narratives from others) and hence entirely subjective:
Harvard: Light coursework, heavy emphasis on research. Can be competitive. Many graduates end up in Harvard-affiliated non-faculty (or contract faculty) positions.
Hopkins: Heavy coursework. Fun environment (at least inside the building). Most well-known advisors very "data science"-y.
UW: Heavy coursework. Fun student experience. Thin on advisors that don't do variable selection/machine learning. Students tend to graduate with a broad background but few papers.
UNC: Moderate coursework. Strong connections to industry. Big program with high student-to-faculty ratio. Students can get "lost" and take a long time to graduate (or not graduate at all).
Michigan: Moderate coursework. Big program. Well-rounded, particularly strong in genetics/genomics and causal inference.
UC Berkeley: Light coursework. High flexibility, "choose your own adventure". Not affiliated with a medical school, so more emphasis on methods than application.

Me when UWashington acceptances came out and my inbox was empty:
It is the evening of the day
    I press refresh on gradcafe
Rows of green I can see
    But not for me
    I sit and watch
    As acceptances go by

    My gpa can’t buy anything
I just wish I was better at proving things
All I hear is the sound
    Of emails going around
    I sit and watch
    As acceptances go by

It is the evening of the day
    I press refresh on gradcafe
Seeing profiles like I used to do
    they think are new
    I sit and watch
    As tears go by

Got into the Warwick Stats PhD. Very excited! Still waiting for other unis replies but do not have much hope as far as other programs are rather competitive and my background is not ideal.

I got an acceptance from Baylor this morning! Deadline is February 26th since first year students start in July, so I'm hoping to hear back from other schools before then. Funding is $20,700/9 months, and they also offered an additional $7k fellowship for the first year for having a "strong application".

It seems that someone got an interview invite for Harvard based on the results page... I still haven't heard anything from Harvard or Brown yet.

@AngelaBiostats i think some places have rolling interviews. take this from the nyu comments
"We have begun sending invitations to interview and will continue to do so until the end of February. I hope that helps! We try to interview applicants with applicants of similar interest" so its probably department specific.
@frequentist here i am back already. gonna get blacklist this website on my firewall lol
