Yay PupCakes!!  Was this your top choice or still hoping for SAIS?
Congrats! Considering Walsh and SAIS basically trade places for #1 every year, I think you're in a good spot!
I'm in the same boat. I'm applying to a foreign language fellowship which should help... but I'd still have to borrow wayyyy too much money. I think I'll do it because working at a dream job with some financial stress is probably better than at a job I don't want with financial security... but ugh.

I applied for the dual MSFS/MPP and was notified of the MPP acceptance today. The processes are totally separate, but hopefully means grad admissions are kicking into gear.

Almost certainly will go there unless SAIS gives me lots of cashdollas. I'd rather be in DC two years than one year at HNC, since my end goal is to get a job in DC rather than China. If I wanted a fancy expat package at a multinational doing business in China, SAIS would probably be the better choice, but I'm probably aiming for government policy work.
The main "drawback" of the MASIA program is that it's small, only around 35 students per year, so compared to SAIS the alumni network is pretty small. But that may also be a plus in some ways, so not too concerned about that.

12-15 credits is the standard number of credits that people take. To stand out, most students do outside activities such as research relevant to the field.

So real talk, I was married for a while. Though not the only contributing factor, I knew the marriage was over the second I started talking about going to grad school and his response was that I wasn't allowed to unless it paid us. I'm so happy to be divorced because I'm no longer anchored by someone keeping me from living the life I want to live. AKA I have dreams and aspirations and I'm not willing to give up on those for a partner (and a partner shouldn't ask you to, though there may be some situations where you choose to value the partner over the dream). I'm not gonna lie and say it'll be easy to find the right partner, because it honestly won't, but you should not have to compromise your values in such an extreme way for the chance at romantic fulfillment. I hope you find a partner who will make you happy and who values your passions and goals as much as you do. <3

The MPA (International Development specialization). Going into my 5th week of waiting, so I'm checking their portal constantly! For SAIS, I have to assume it's just standard procedure given that acceptances come out next week. My best guess would be that the documents disappear when our files are closed on their end (a decision either way has been made, not necessarily positive or negative), which is why you can no longer see the documents.

@PupCakes Replying over here since we were getting off topic on the other thread:
Eh, at least for my program, the 2018-2019 class's middle 50% GRE quantitative score range was 151-160, so I think the econ/quant background thing is overplayed.

Oh nice! Where were you accepted, if you don't mind sharing? Is Walsh your top choice?

After looking at previous years’ admissions threads, it seems like decisions will probably be released around March 9-13. Hopefully it’s the week before that, though. I’ve been accepted to two schools so far, but Georgetown is my top choice. I’m so excited to hear back.
