  1. Current student at NPSIA, I find the program incredible. The professors are all very knowledgeable and there is a co-op program here for getting a paid summer job in an IR field. They are competed for but I have yet to meet a NPSIA student who did not get one. NPSIA is great if you want to work in GAC. Another thing I have noticed while here is that the professors are incredible for networking (not all of them, but enough to make a difference). One professor has been introducing us to some incredibly influential people in the field of humanitarian aid and during a time when so much of school and work is remote, this kind of help with networking is priceless. Ottawa is also just a nice city all around, and Carleton's campus is really beautiful. Also, as a final note, I did my undergrad in IR and honestly I have found that I've learned more in just a few months at NPSIA than I did in my entire undergrad in IR. It is by no means easy but if you want a strong and useful IR degree with the opportunity to do co-op (to help secure a job as well) then I would recommend NPSIA. Those other options might be fantastic too, I am just not as familiar with what they offer.
  2. Hey everyone, I am wondering about the TA offer. Is this usually a tutorial TA position? If anyone has done this already, what was the experience like?
  3. My letter says to respond within like 21 days or something of when the letter was dated so Im assuming there is but it's a very strange way to do it imo.
  4. I wouldnt say I want to go more than the other schools I got into, although I am happy I got in. The reputation is great and it is within proximity to home for me, compared to NPSIA at least. That being said I am sure those who chose Munk over other institutions have their reasons! Currently as it looks Im leaning towards York's MES program or NPSIA, but as of right now I have no idea which Ill choose... Sighhh
  5. Interesting, why do you say that? Atm Im least inclined to Munk compared to NPSIA and the MES program but this is the first Im hearing of it being a waste of money/time?
  6. I actually have no idea right now! The fellowship at the MES program is incredible, the program would be fully funded and everything without any RA/TA commitments, but NPSIA looks very appealing in terms of federal govt work, and Munk is just great and closer to home for me... I really do not know at this point!
  7. Just got the email today for NPSIA! Super happy, now I will have to decide between Munk, NPSIA, and a very very appealing EnvStudies Masters at York... at this point it's scary to say I am entirely unsure which to pick... Also for NPSIA I have "Health, Displacement and Humanitarian Policy" as my specialization (I completely forget which order I placed my top three picks in haha but I think this was my #1) Best of luck to everyone else still waiting to hear back! Waiting is no fun and I hope you all get into your dream programs.
  8. This may sound very ignorant but where do you see your specialization? thank you
  9. Hello, just found this forum and wanted to say I was accepted the other day to Munk! Domestic 4th year student finishing international relations degree in Canada. Have not even had time to apply or look at scholarship/funding, so if anyone has any advice that would be greatly appreciated!
