Are you guys planning to have some powerpoint slides / figures to show during your interviews? I am not sure if I should. I've received conflicting advice.... some people told me that interviews are suposed to be like conversations, so it is not advised to have any slides or anything whereas others say it will be helpful to get your points across.

I am leaning towards not having any, but idk if that may make me look unprepared/less prepared than other people getting interviewed if they do have them.

I am personally not planning on doing it. It is a personal choice because if I do so, I might switch from talking in a conversational way to talking in a more automatic/presentation way, but that is just me. It's a matter on you deciding what works best for you, but I do know a lot of peers who will be showing small 1-3 summary slides, so schools are not actually against it.

same! Can't imagine it will take much longer, but who knows...

I know right, they usually don't send invites after Jan 8th or 9th. At least that's what I got from looking at previous years in the results section. Maybe we'll hear something today or tomorrow, who knows.

I LOVE THIS POST LOL!!! I hope its satire taking a jab at the annoying af people on here ??? bc if so its a masterpiece. Yall are toxic. Like if youve heard back from multiple schools inviting you for interviews and still “fReAKiNg oUt” please stfu.

  4. Hi everyone! Good luck with your applications this season!

I applied to 12 programs... and I do not know where the transcripts issue is coming from... very few schools require official transcripts at the time of admissions. If the application has a space to upload the transcript, you just upload your scanned unofficial transcript and do not send the official one 'till after you are accepted and decide to enroll in such program. No need for unnecessary anxieties... I think that just waiting to be contacted about interviews is stressful enough.

Congratulations! Do you know if  Harvard's admission process complete? I never received a rejection or invite. I just need to know if I can move on and accept other offers. One of my other top choices accepted me and I don't want to be hopelessly waiting.

So, I do have the same question, but in my case I was already interviewed by them, but haven't officially received my rejection yet. You can always email the program with that question and they can give you a more official answer so that you can make an informed decision.

    Hi Guys !

I have a interview tomorrow and wanted some last minute tips/advice. Also, those who already interviewed, how did the interviews go? What type of questions were asked? Any info would be great.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Just be yourself. They are very inclined towards hiring you, but want to get to know the person behind the personal statement and the amazing qualities in the application. Expect questions such as "Why not a PhD now?","Strengths/Weaknesses", and the typical "Tell me about yourself." Always make sure to not make it all about your challenges, but on how they contributed to your goals and have been steps in your career.

    Best of luck!

I got waitlisted to JH and I unofficially got into MUSC (I think) they want to wait for my MCAT score to come back on April 14th. I'm honestly scared because I don't feel good about that MCAT score to begin with and I don't solely want to apply to PhD programs in the long run. Any advice?

Don't worry about that. If you are doing PREP towards an MD/PhD, a not-so-good MCAT is not going to keep you from getting into PREP as they can help you to retake it and get a better score.

Hey everyone !! I am very happy to find this thread. Is anyone heard from Harvard ? I email them a while back ( when carona just started) and they said nothing will get postponed, i was wondering if it still the case. Did anyone had an interview ?  or heard anything?

Hi! Welcome to the thread! I also applied to Harvard RSI and have not heard anything from them either :(

Mt Sinai just sent an update for interviews to be sent out soon!

Yeah, I got the update. Do you think everybody who applied got it or just potential candidates? Because it does say we will be contacted about interviews.

Hey everyone! I got an interview request today from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). I’m still waiting to hear from Johns Hopkins, Yale and UofSC.

    Congrats on your interview offer!

Yeah, I haven’t heard anything from Hopkins either. Their application receipt email says that they notify before March 20th tho, but with this coronavirus situation we never know the delays each institution is dealing with.

  11. Thank you so much! Yeah, this perfectly makes sense.

So yeah, UPenn is my top option and Washington was my second top option. So I was right about to accept UW and was only willing to change UW for UPenn, so that is what I will do, ask for a few more days at UW. As soon as UPenn sends me an offer, I will decline UW to facilitate the process for others who are awaiting response.

    Best of luck everyone!

  12. Hi everyone! Just found out there was a 2020-2021 version of this forum. All this time I’ve been using last year’s forum for reference on timing and all that...

I applied to: UWashington, UPenn, UChicago, Sinai, Hopkins, and Harvard.

I was offered at UWashington and have ‘till this friday to accept. Haven’t heard anything from the rest.
