I'm really not sure about this-my thought is that the deadline has been extended to February 1st and that one place that says Jan. 15th is a leftover that they forgot to change. There's only one place now that says Jan. 15th but multiple that say Feb. 1st. Has anyone emailed Vicky about it?- 1,373 replies

Depending on where you're applying you may not have to choose! Some schools allow you more than one professional reference letter. Do you mind sharing where you'll be applying?- 1,373 replies

Hi! I'm not an SLP, just a prospective one, but I find the SAC to be a good starting point to learn about the field https://www.sac-oac.ca/ Maybe explore the website a bit- 1,373 replies

Honestly me too! I was really hoping to just reuse my statement from last year but it looks like I’ll have to make some serious amendments. I wonder if this is a way for them to hopefully weed people out since last year they have at least 100 more applicants than previous years- 1,373 replies

ORPAS is open friends! The number of applicants jumped up for all programs last year. You had less than a 10% chance to get into Western!- 1,373 replies

Not directly related to admissions but I thought it interesting none the less, York U has started a BA program in speech and language sciences, like Brock’s program. I’m pretty sure that would make it only the second program of that type in Ontario. Do these give applicants any sort of advantage? I know generally programs don’t like the slp undergrad program that you can take in the USA.- 1,373 replies

Did anybody else attend the U of Alberta application info session at OASIS this year? What do you think about her recommendations? I thought it was weird that they would consider hobbies on a resume. I didn't think anyone included that anymore!- 1,373 replies

Hey! Sorry my signature is actually from last year, I can't remember how to edit it lol! This year I'm applying to Western and U of Alberta. I was waitlisted at Western so I think with some improvements I stand a fighting chance. U of T and McMaster focus really heavily on grades and that is not my strong suit so I'm not even trying those this time!- 1,373 replies

Any time I'm on here a lot LOL I can't remember if there's a limit to how many entries you can add so you may be able to keep all 10 +. But there's definitely a character limit to how much you can write about each! I found it helpful to keep a "master" version of all my application information in separate document and whittle away what's necessary depending on the school/application. Writing my statement ended up being a major show of restraint ?- 1,373 replies

I applied last year and this was there. It’s almost exactly the same as Western’s sections but UofT’s website describes it so weirdly. I remember being super confused before I actually saw the application lol. Both are things you’ll have to input directly, no PDF. You can copy and paste but you’ll likely have to play around with the formatting to get it to look right. Section 2 format is very similar to what job descriptions on a resume may look like. Beware though that the character count for describing the activities is pretty small.- 1,373 replies
