Just rejected by Berkeley DrPH

On UC Berkeley’s DrPH page it says we may have to wait till June 1 if we’re on a waitlist. That is so late! I don’t know how we can plan to join the program if we find out so late. Anyone else waiting to hear from them before deciding on other offers?

Did they? I heard from the program that they’ll send out decisions in the first two weeks of March.

I'm in the same boat for IH - Health systems track. No response to emails. I was really hopeful because I thought the interview went well but at this point, there's no hope left.

Thanks for the responses about why you chose DrPH programs. Relatedly, can we start a thread about which programs offer funding or some kind of tuition reimbursement for them?

This may not be the best time for this question but I was wondering what were some motivations for people to choose DrPH programs over PhD? I had a hard time deciding which ones I wanted to apply to. I chose PhD mostly because of the funding. Were there other factors that you guys considered?

Oh okay. I know! You get so hopeful when you receive an interview request and then you're crushed when you get rejected after going so far in the process.

Oh okay. I interviewed for the Health Systems track. They said they're interviewing 10 people for 2 positions so I knew my chances were slim but hopeful nonetheless..

Same. Did you guys interview with them? I had my interview in Jan and it's been over a month of this agonizing wait. JHU IH is my top choice and my gut tells me it's not happening. But I don't want to believe it till I see it!

To those of you who have been rejected - have you considered reaching back to the program and asking for feedback on your application? If I don't get in anywhere and I apply again next year, I would like to know how to improve my application but I dunno if anyone would give me any actual feedback. Thoughts?

Nope. I’d heard from the program that we would hear back by last week but crickets so far. The anxiety is killing me.
