I just received an acceptance from University of Maryland this morning!!! I'm still in disbelief as my last LOR was approved on 3/12! It was the only program I applied to and I'm going to accept - thanks to everyone here for your support and info sharing throughout this process! Only yesterday I was feeling regretful that I applied so close to the deadline. Don't lose hope!!

From the info sessions I have gone to it seems to be a mixture of both. They say in order to be a social worker you need to be skilled both in clinical and macro. You get a strong foundation in those two areas but can choose whether to be on the macro or clinical track. You are able to even major in clinical and minor in macro (but not the other way around) if you want. There is also a MPH/MSW dual degree program I am not sure if your interested in that but that could be related to policy. I don’t know whether i can speak about it’s reputation, besides it is a respected university and school of social work (in the top 10), but I hope that maybe helps you!

I just got an email from admissions! They have put me on the waitlist and will tell me by the end of April  this is not what i wanted or expected but it is not a hard no. best of luck to everyone else who applied!

Hey everyone, this is my first time posting here. I have been waitlisted at UChicago, was accepted to Catholic, and Temple, and am still waiting to hear back from UMD and Howard. When I emailed them to ask about an expected timeline I usually get a generic answer that they are currently going through applications and will release decisions soon. Has anyone heard back from UMD or Howard? If so, how long did it take from when you submitted your application? 

I would email admissions at Columbia and Hunter. If you ask, they can usually give you at least a time frame. For example, I asked BU when I could expect to hear a final decision from them (I am on the waitlist) and they said by the end of April. I sent that back to BC and they gave me an extension date of April 5th, but also said that I could ask for another one if I hadn't heard back by then. It is kind of annoying, but you need to just ask for what you need and they are usually understanding. Good luck!

Hey everyone I just got an email that I was waitlisted at BU.

I emailed admissions for an extension! I would recommend that. I told them I was waiting to hear back from a school and the time frame that school had told me. BC admissions wrote in my acceptance I needed to respond by January 28th, but they extended it until March 1st. I think it will depend on your personal situation.

Yes it is good, I wasn’t expecting it because my admissions counselor had told me that they wouldn’t be reviewing applications until after the deadline, but she never replied to my follow up email when I asked if admissions were rolling. so that confused me haha. I applied to UMB because it is in close proximity to where I am currently living, to be honest that was the only reason. I actually applied to the Shady Grove campus in Rockville so I would be able to commute instead of move to Baltimore. I think it is a solid program, but just not the best fit for me because I hope to move somewhere new. Is it one of your top schools?

I applied to the on-campus program for Fall 2021 on December 17. I would be regular, full-time, and clinical track. BU is my first choice! Did anyone else apply? I hope i get in.

BU is my first choice, and I applied early (the deadline is 1/7). I submitted my applications for BC and BMC on 12/1 and to BU and UMB on 12/17. I just heard back from Bryn Mawr with 40% tuition scholarship! Good luck to everyone!
