  1. I'm on the waitlist at EMU, and I only applied to one POI, so I was told that as soon as her slot was filled I would be rejected - that hasn't happened yet, so I'm guessing not all the slots have been filled. I'm going to be emailing this week to pull myself off the waitlist and I'll share if I hear anymore news (hopefully this helps you too!!)
  2. Oh I 100% agree! From these two programs and faculty I’ve spoken with at both, it sounds like this isn’t terribly unusual for a public school (which both of mine are). They usually get their budget from the state anytime Jan-March so it’s kind of a guessing game as to how many students they can take when they post their application info for the upcoming year. Usually it doesn’t impact as much as it did this year (the program I’m waiting on usually takes 8-10 and they’re taking...2), and my POI was also very frustrated and told me she wouldn’t have put her name on the list of faculty taking students if she had known cuts would have been this drastic. I was also rejected without interview from another program who didn’t take *anyone* into the track I applied to, which just made me feel...not great about this whole process (or that I paid so much to apply).
  3. From one of those people who is holding an offer - a ton of us are also in waitlist limbo! I think that's what makes this process so hard. Especially this year - I applied to a (different) program, and their funding got cut (shoutout to COVID), and they've essentially told me I may get an offer, or I may not, and then that they don't really know when that offer would come in if they're able to make me one! And I've heard of many other folks in similar positions this year, who maybe (like me) have an offer from one of their top choices and were hoping to be able to figure out the best fit with another school that they are on the waitlist for due to budget shortfalls/limitations. It's all so frustrating! But just wanted to respond with one reason why some people might be waiting - that's certainly my reason!
  4. I know I chatted with some of y'all, but I'm the one who posted an acceptance on the results page - I also posted in the other forum that that was me but realized I should share that here too! I haven't yet accepted (I just got the official letter yesterday, so was holding off on moving forward before that - might be why y'all haven't had any updates yet!) but I plan to post on the results page if I decide to give up the offer! I know how stressful this all is so I wanted to share here that it's me in case anyone has any questions (anyone should feel free to DM)
  5. Hi! I actually wrote my POI over the weekend - there were apparently some changes to how many they could accept, and mine told me that they were not able to make a first round offer (and it sounds like my lab probably won't be able to make an offer at all, unless grant funding comes in). Happy to chat over DM if you have any questions - mine offered to meet with me to help me figure out how to move forward (I have another acceptance that I don't want to keep waiting for too long) so yours might be willing to as well!
  6. School: City University of New York (HPCS) Type: Clinical PhD Acceptance/Waitlist/Rejection: Acceptance (awaiting formal letter) Type of Notification: Phone call from POI Date Notified: March 3rd DM for POI: Always
  7. Yes!! That's part of why I'm skeptical of the post haha. My PI also told me not to expect to hear from them until March, so I was just kinda chilling until I saw that post lol
  8. Anyone heard from VCU (clinical) or CUNY (HPCS)?? Wondering if that one HPCS post wasn't real given the notes on the other CUNY pages that the graduate center was holding up funding...
  9. Hi! I might be able to help - which track are you? I don’t recognize the initials, but I applied to the child track and can confirm that I have received my formal schedule for interview day and everything ? I will say (if it helps) that it looks like they broke interviews down by track - Feb 5 seems to be just child and Jan 29 just behavioral medicine. So, if you’re behavioral medicine, good luck!!! (PS: my email came directly from my PI, not the program as a whole, just as an FYI! )
  10. I haven't heard any communication from them but my name would be at the very end...holding out hope with y'all ?
  11. DMing you! (Anyone else curious, please feel free to DM as well!)
  12. I just heard this morning! They're clearly rolling out (maybe by PI?). Don't worry yet, I started worrying yesterday when all those people posted for that one lab haha.
  13. School: CUNY (HPCS) Type: Health Psychology and Clinical Science Ph.D. Date of invite: 1/20/2021 Type of invite: Email from admission committee Interview date(s): Week of 1/25 DM for POI: Yes!
