I'm having a hard time finding the cost of attendance (including housing, etc) for Hunter. I know other schools break that down to help you determine your loan eligibility since you can claim up to the total COA. Has anyone been able to find that number for Silberman? All I'm seeing is the plain tuition costs. Thanks!!

Has anyone had any luck reaching the financial aid office? I have questions about claiming my loans, appealing for work study, etc and they are not responding to any emails. Wondering if anyone has been able to speak with them directly?

Completely agree with you. I can't imagine becoming a social worker after learning half the skills through a screen. Really hoping they'll follow local schools and go fully in person!

I was on the session today too and missed what they said about remote/in person classes. I had heard that we'll be starting off remote but I know I missed a part of what they said on this and am wondering if I missed a key point. I was so disappointed about being remote as I was so looking forward to being in class with others. I'm the same as you-- I know I will struggle with keeping up in asynchronous classes. Also wanted to echo what you said about words of encouragement-- it seems like they're really still accepting people so sending good vibes to all waiting!

For those who are waiting for pre-orientation info, I just emailed the enrollment team and asked about it and they sent me the links to sign up for sessions. I'm already learning that this school requires some self advocacy, but so far they've all been very helpful and kind- you just have to take the initiative.

I don't have experience in this at all but just hopping in to offer my perspective. I think burning bridges happens less with the action alone and is more about how you approach it. As long as you are respectful to the fact that you are backing out of your commitment but you explain that you're making this decision for financial reasons and whatever other reasons that make you believe the other school is a better choice, I'm sure they will be understanding. I'm sure this happens all the time and I'm sure they don't blacklist every student who does it, as long as you provide a solid backing for your choice and are respectful and appreciative of their offer and what they've done for you thus far. Either way, just do what's best for you and your future-- they will not remember your choice in 5 years, but you definitely will! Best of luck in your decision!

FYI for those in the two year full time program (non-OYR), I was told we need to wait another few weeks for the welcome package with further information. I'm anxious about knowing registration dates but trying to be patient!

Hi! I had the exact same anxiety when I saw that my acceptance link was expired. While I didn't reach out to them about that directly, I was told that my enrollment acceptance was recieved and that there are no further steps for me to take at the moment. I'm sure it's fine! You're probably right that someone on the admissions end just updated that link for you.

Graduation Timing vs. Application Timing

Don't quote me on this because I'm not fully sure, but I believe it's fine to apply before you officially graduate. Usually, an acceptance would then just be considered contingent upon your graduation and you'll need to show a completed transcript before beginning the program. -

Hi! I'm not super familiar with BU's program so unfortunately can't offer much advice, but here to say that I'm interested in the exact same work and will almost certainly be attending Hunter.

On the same boat with work study and living off campus, but it's still far from affordable and I can't imagine taking out that level of debt with the expected starting salary... I'm almost certain I will turn down Columbia and go to Hunter. What are you thinking?

I applied at the end of December, and received an email of my completed application in mid-January. Heard back on March 26 with an acceptance. Pretty much 10 weeks from confirmation of application.
