  1. I accepted my offer from York CD last week If anyone else has accepted a CD offer there feel free to send me a message!
  2. I had emailed UofA regarding SCCP (thesis) and got this response “We have sent out our first offers and waitlist. We have not rejected any applications that made it to the review stage. I think it would be unlikely that we make an offer to you.” Bit of a bummer but thought I would share in case anyone else has been anxiously waiting
  3. Unfortunately I don't think schools really have any good reason for the amount of time it takes to send rejections. Sending out "no's" really just isn't a high priority for them. Usually if you haven't received an interview invite by February that is a pretty good indicator that it isn't going to happen. It is ridiculous that they make us wait so long to get a definitive no but I can't see that changing anytime soon UNB is the only school I have ever applied to that sends out their rejections at the same time as their interview invites. Dalhousie is notoriously slow...any time I have applied to them they haven't rejected me until April. Sorry this isn't a real encouraging response. Once you have been through the process once it gets easier to gauge where you stand. My first year I sat like a blissful idiot thinking "no news is good news" but sadly I have learned that isn't the case. If this is what you really want keep trying, though! Best of luck
  4. Does anyone here know anything about the University of Alberta's SCCP program (sorry I know it isn't a clinical program but thought some people here might have also applied to it)? I am not sure when to expect to hear from them. On a different note I received an acceptance from York's CD program on Friday! Very exciting as it is 5 years in the making. I'm just figuring out what my priorities are before I decide if I want to accept or not. So a spot might open up with AP yet ?
  5. Just FYI for anyone waiting to hear from UNB. Got this email from the graduate coordinator today: "The first round of interviews concluded yesterday. Once we assess these interviews there may be more that take place." Feeling like it's a safe bet to cross this one off my list. Congratulations to everyone who got interviews!
  6. Has anyone heard from UNB? Would love to chat! On a side note...this is my fifth year applying. My first two years I didn't get a single interview and the last two years I got a few interviews but no offers. I only applied to 2 schools this year and I have an interview for one so far. Considering it a 50% success rate right now lol. Just trying to offer some encouragement for those of you who are just starting out! If this is what you want then persevere...keep applying, keep seeking research opportunities, keep making connections with professors you are really interested in, and keep honing in on what you feel passionate about. My honours supervisor gave me some really good advice last year. He told me that there are a lot of different paths you can take to get to similar end goals. Clinical doesn't have to be the be-all end-all. Personally, I have broadened my search a bit and realized I could be really happy doing OT or ed psych, as well. I wholeheartedly understand how disappointing the rejection is but it has also offered me many opportunities to have different work experiences, get to know myself, and build up resilience. All of which will ultimately make me a better practitioner in whatever career path I end up choosing. So hang in there!
  7. School: York (Clinical Developmental) Date of invite: Jan 9 Date of interview: Jan 26 with POI (AP) Virtual open house on Jan 28. Good luck everyone!
  8. I haven't heard anything from Queen's but my PI emailed me in January to tell me she was no longer going to be allowed to take a student so I am just waiting for that rejection. I attended the York open house and it sounded like only those invited were being considered for offers. I didn't apply to Lakehead so not sure about that one. Congratulations on your offer!
  9. Has anyone heard back from York CD? I know it's only been a few days since the open house but I am dying a little bit from all of the anxiety. If you've heard anything I would love to chat!
  10. School: York Program: Clinical Psychology (Developmental) Date of invite: February 8 Date of interview: February 16 (with POI), February 26 (with department) Email invite directly from POI. So excited! This application season has been BRUTAL. Obviously not a sure thing but nice to have some hope again...had kind of given up this year. On my fourth year of applying...if this is what you want don't give up!
  11. I did my undergrad in Regina and I still speak with my Honours supervisor pretty frequently. He told me a few days ago that they received a record breaking number of applications this year so I imagine they are still sifting through them if the due date wasn't very long ago. I know that he hasn't contacted any applicants yet.
