anyone hear anything yet? I know that today was the deadline for people to accept or decline some scholarships/fellowships that went out, but judging by this thread it seems not a lot have aid has been offered past the exorbitant federal loans.
literally nothing -__-

nope. i chatted with one of the specialists or assistants or something and got an answer that was along the lines of "scholarships are far and few between this year and if we don't give you enough money then maybe UW isn't the school for you"
which has basically completely turned me off to the program. i got more scholarship money from other programs and i have decisions that are due to other programs this week. this is very unprofessional and obnoxious on uw's part.
That's bizarre, because when I went to a presentation last week they said 'we just got a huge donation so that may be good news for a lot of you.' Wtf? Did you talk to a student specialists or an employee?

Anyone hear anything this week?

this is what I received today, I guess it may be longer than this week.
“Award decisions regarding scholarships are still pending, but we will notify all applicants considered, however, when scholarships have been exhausted. I'm sorry that we do not have a more definitive timeline and appreciate your patience.”What could possibly be taking them so long lol? Seems like they must've come into something unexpected?

Do you know when scholarships/grant awards might be going out? I accepted my offer at another school because I have not heard from UW about scholarships yet but keeping it in the running because of convenience and location for me.
Ive heard by the end of this week but I think theres no guarantee

Nope! Last time I talked to admissions they said by the end of this week. I think they keep pushing it back.

Same as above - location works out and I really liked the admissions process. I liked what I saw of the program from talking with current students and admin . They also seem to have a lot of student affinity groups which was important to me.
Also saw on Discord that some people received scholarship letters today. Anyone get good news?
I haven't gotten any scholarship info. I want to go to UW, but since I'm out of state now I'm really anxious. I'm not sure if I can justify it without financial aid.

I heard back in late February but I applied early (Nov 15). Now I am waiting on financial aid. What makes everyone interested in UT (just curious )?

I got an email from Hunter last night saying I needed to sign up for a group interview but all the slots were full... I sent them an email and am waiting for a response.
I also saw in the discord (https://discord.gg/XJ7HXCPE) that some people have gotten a second email saying the first email was a mistake?
Does anyone know more about this?
The slots are full for me too, however I did not get the email saying the first email is a mistake. I also sent them an email about not being able to sign up. We are in the same boat!

Has anyone successfully negotiated more money from any school yet?
I want to but I'm nervous where to even start. Do most people just send an email?

I'm going crazy waiting to hear back from SDSU and other schools. I've been playing a lot of skyrim to try and take my mind off it. It wasn't so bad waiting until this week, but since its March and starting to feel like 'decisions season' now I'm a mess lol

Hey y'all, just made an account to post on here lol. I was checking at the UCB MSW page and they are saying applicants should be notified by March 15th. I did receive my acceptance for SFSU under the Title IV-E program and will more than likely be going there! Good luck y'all!
I also found this on their website which says the week of March 1... I wonder what is more updated https://socialwelfare.berkeley.edu/admissions/msw-admissions

Hi everyone! has anyone heard anything from UW or UC Berkeley? I have been trying to contact Cal admissions for over two weeks with no luck, not sure if this is a bad sign or not.
Hi Christina, Berkeley's website says they send out admissions the week of March 1, so I don't think it's a bad sign! they are probably just really busy.

I haven't received my aid package yet either! But I went to UMich for undergrad and 10k is a pretty extensive offer from my understanding. I know folks who have gotten a lot less--or even no money. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to ask for more though!
1 hour ago, christina k said:Hi everyone! For those that have been accepted to UMich, have you received your financial aid package yet and if so how much? I got $10,000 for the full-time in community change and I’m not sure how great of a package this is, and if I could push for some more money since the price is soo steep.
I'm curious, how does one ask for more money? I didn't know this was possible but it sounds good haha

For those of you who have already been accepted to UChicago, if you could please tell us if you applied for Full time/Part time/ Extended/Advanced Standing programs and brief stats...I'm worried that I don't have enough social/ community service hours so I'm panicking. Thanks!
Applied: 09/20/20
UMichigan(Waitlisted 12/15), UPenn (Rejected 12/23), UChicago, BC(Accepted 1/7), BU
Applied: 12/24/20
Columbia, UWashington(Seattle)
Hi Jess! I applied for full time day. I'm not sure if my stats will be helpful, they are sort of unconventional. My undergrad GPA was lower than most people on this forum (I want to remain very anonymous so I won't share exactly but like... I haven't seen anyone list one lower haha. I think yours is probably higher). I think a big up for me was some unique work/life experiences, which makes me think the admissions process was more holistic and 'big picture'. Maybe if you didn't have a lot of hours they would be looking at other factors and weighing the application as a whole? I feel like these things are so hard to predict, and that makes the process stressful. I hope you hear back soon ❤️

I also got my email from Chicago at exactly 12 pm est (but I’m on the west coast so luckily I was awake). I hope everyone received good news ❤️

Hi- if anyone here applied to Hunter CUNY i have a question: I submitted my unofficial transcripts as prompted by the application. However, now the app says my transcripts aren't submitted, and Hunter has a website that says I ought to send official transcripts in one envelope (however if they come from me... don't they cease to be official? lol. I guess they are still sealed). Is that something I'm supposed to do ASAP, rather than waiting for a decision like other schools? Thanks :D
MSW: Tuition vs. Earning Potential

Hi all! I'm deciding between U Chicago (cheaper due to scholarships) and UW Seattle(more expensive). However, I noticed the salary for social workers is much higher in Seattle than in Chicago, even when compared to cost of living. What do you think is the better long term financial decision, due to the networking opportunities I will likely have in the city I attend school in?
Also if anyone has opinions on these schools, let me know
