  1. Thank you! Mainly surveillance technologies.
  2. For those that have been accepted into more than 1 program, what factors are you using to decide which school/program you're going to choose to attend?
  3. Has anyone received any gifts from the programs/universities they applied for?
  4. ...also Syracuse let me know they received 2x as many applicant this year! From what I've been hearing, most universities (across all programs and degrees) received about double the amount of applicants this year. I reached out to UMD and they let me know that they've released some admissions decisions and will continue to release decisions over the next several weeks.
  5. I was accepted into the Information Studies PhD program at Syracuse with a fully funded package. ? Good luck everyone!
  6. Yes, to those 3 questions. Also have a few questions that you'd like to ask them. I've had quite a few interviews and they are pretty informal. If you made it to the interview phase all the qualifications/merit stuff is done. They want to get know you and learn more about why you want to study. Relax and be yourself. This is also a time for you to interview them. I also ask professors about their advisee style - is it hands off, is it independent, is it very hands on, etc. etc.
  7. Hi everyone, I'm not sure if anyone applied to the MATX program at VCU, but they wont be releasing admission decision until March/April. Did anyone apply to any programs at Georgia Tech?
  8. Thank you and I hope so! Good luck with everything.
  9. Congratulations! Did you apply to the Information Studies PhD at UMD? If so, when did you hear from them? I haven't heard from them yet. You haven't heard from Georgia Tech yet, correct?
  10. Hi everyone, I had my interview with Syracuse for admission to their Information PhD program. It went really well... but who knows. I had 2 great interviews with Cornell and I still wasn't admitted. Syracuse did tell me that this will for their 2nd round and their 1st round of admissions offers already went out. I just received my rejection letter from CMU for the HCII Phd program. I wasn't banking on CMU, if I'm being perfectly honest I only applied because I was offered an application fee waiver. Good luck everyone!
  11. I'm sorry about your UPenn rejection. The rejection letters are hard to deal with. I also received my UPenn rejection letter today. Did you apply to any other schools in Philly? Drexel and Temple are top schools as well.
  12. Congrats too! Did your NCSU CDRM acceptance letter tell you your position in line on the waitlist for receiving funding?
  13. Congratulations on your acceptances! When did you hear from UMD regarding an interview? I applied to their information studies PhD program but I haven't heard back from them at all yet.
  14. I received an email and my letter was attached as a pdf. I'm not sure whether they meant they actually received a record number of applications and/or they admitted more students this year. Possibly both? I'm sure most schools received more applications than normal. During the CRDM info session they mentioned they accept like 12 students, give or take, like you said above. 12 seems like a lot... most schools accept half that amount, at most.
  15. I was recently accepted to NCSU CRDM's PhD program. I am waitlisted for funding though. The letter stated, " The CRDM program had a record number of admissions this year, and you are one of a small group of top applicants who were waitlisted." I think most programs received more applications than normal, especially since most schools waived the GRE, amongst other pandemic-related personal reasons. Best of Luck!
  16. I'm not sure what the acceptance rate is for finalists. But I'm sure its not high... most PhD programs only let in like 5-10 ppl, give or take and depending on funding, program size, etc. etc. I know Temple said I have until April to let them know yes or now. I assume (well, hope) that most programs give students about the same amount time to let them know their decision.
  17. Keep your hope up. We all have great things to offer these schools and programs. All you need is one offer . Good luck!
  18. Thank you! I was actually surprised too. I received great feedback and high comments/remarks about my strong application. I was flooded with compliments (not to brag, but just pointing to my surprise that I was not offered admission). I haven't received funding form Temple yet either. They said early April.
  19. I applied to the PhD in information at UofT too. I haven't head anything back yet. My application says "under review" or something like that. Fingers crossed to all of us!
  20. Hi all, I just wanted to share my application updates, as of now. I was interviewed by Cornell for their InfoSci program twice but I found out I wasn't accepted. I have been admitted to one of my top choices, Temple's Media & Communications PhD and I'm a finalist at NW's MTS PhD program. I'm applied to a LOT of schools so Im waiting to her back. I feel very optimistic though. Does anyone know whats up with receiving emails form financial aid to set up your financial aid account (and student portals) with schools you've heard back from regarding admissions decisions?
  21. Hi everyone! My friend send me this forum. I'm not sure if it's making me more or less nervous (lol). I was accepted to Temple! I'M SO EXCITED! I was not interviewed by Temple, fyi. I had 2 interviews with Cornell and was not accepted. I'm a finalist at Northwestern. I have not been interviewed yet (not sure if I will be or not).
