  1. Hi All. I am also still awaiting Columbia (confirmed complete feb 17) ahh. Looked at my portal today saying they are awaiting my official transcripts from my undergrad. Are those needed to make an admissions decision? they have all my unofficial ones from my original application so wondering why they asking for them now so late (update: turns out I was a few seconds too early and just got my acceptance!)
  2. Hi all I just wanted to take a minute to express gratitude to those on this thread as you have all helped me and eased anxiety during this admissions period! I think all of us should be extremely proud of ourselves and all of our accomplishments up to this point are extremely impressive and I am sure whatever graduate program we choose we will continue to do impressive and amazing things. People do not go into social work for the money neccessarily, so it really goes to show how much we all value education and bettering ourselves to continue to serve our communities. I know social work can be a thankless job sometimes so I just wanted to acknowledge all of our hard work does not go unnoticed(:
  3. Do you know when scholarships/grant awards might be going out? I accepted my offer at another school because I have not heard from UW about scholarships yet but keeping it in the running because of convenience and location for me.
  4. Hi! Yes they gave me 5k more but still was not enough to make it an affordable option for me. The person I spoke to was very nice and very honest and even shared why my competing offer/program might be a better fit for me. I would definitely recommend negotiating and submitting any and all documentation they ask for. I know other schools ask for competing offers from other schools so its surprising WashU does not ask for those! Good luck!!!
  5. I wouldn't be nervous about your request! They take a lot into consideration and I was asking for quite a lot so when I submitted it I kind of knew it it was unlikely to get approved. UMich gave me a few different scholarships and grants that will cover all of my tuition for the one year advanced standing program and I was asking for UChicago to match it and they said they couldn't ? Good luck with your appeal!!!
  6. Hi Thanks so much! Yeah I used this link and just heard back today that they are only able to offer 5k more which unfortunately is still unrealistic for me. About to decline my offer of admissions):
  7. Yes I heard back that I was accepted Feb 23 for the advanced standing track CYFS. I just denied my offer last week as I got a better offer elsewhere!
  8. Did anyone appeal UChicago for more funds? I appealed the 33k I got and asked for more and I got my financial aid letter yesterday and it still reflected the 33k. Does that mean my appeal was denied or maybe that they have not gotten to it yet? I did the appeal late February and they said they would start reviewing them this week (March 15). Anyone else do the same and have insight? Thanks!
  9. In am so bad at this platform! I think I am double posting but I am not sure yet! I paid my deposit at UMich due to the aid and they have my specific program (I want to get my PhD so I want to do a program with a research specialization!) but UW hasn't offered any aid yet so I am hesitant. I am currently in the PNW so it would be very convenient for me. Has UW sent you an information on aid yet? I submitted the form they asked for.

  11. I saw posts earlier so thought I might contribute but not sure if anything of this will be helpful! For context I applied for advanced standing at all of these! 1. UMich(accepted 2/1). Financial aid notice sent later but I had to ask if they could send it a little early due to another schools deadline. Received 70k in scholarships and grants for the year. 2. UChicago(accepted 2/5). 33K scholarship included in letter but haven't received formal financial aid letter yet. Also submitted an appeal asking for more funds on 2/28 and have not heard back yet. 3. UW (accepted 2/19). Immediately sent info about finding a field placement but have not heard anything about financial aid. 4. PSU (accepted 3/2) have not heard anything and financial aid nor has there been any other followup. 5. UC Berkeley (rejected 3/3) I am still waiting for Columbia and WUSTL!! Not sure if this helps people have context and timeline but thought maybe it would ?
  12. Hey!!! I'm sorry I won't be much help!! I didn't fill out the form! That being said I wouldn't stress! Has a student liason reached out to you, (they did for me) maybe ask them??
  13. Hi I didn't apply to UCLA but I wanted to say I'm with you on the second guessing and intimidation. I ended up putting all my efforts into my top choices (UMich, UCB, UChicago, University of Washington) and submitted those by the first priority deadline and submitting the others at one of the later deadlines (Columbia, Washington University in St. Louis, PSU). So I totally get that and I'm super excited for everyone getting into Columbia on this chain but accepting the fact I'm prob not gonna hear back for a while. Crossing my fingers for you!
  14. Yeah I think so I also got an email asking me to fill out the field placement form so I think maybe AS is more time sensitive? IDK much about the process I wish I was more helpful! I hope you hear back soon!!!
  15. Hi I posted this in the other thread too but I was accepted last Friday. Advanced standing Administration and Policy Practice specialization if that helps
