Just got an email being put on the waitlist for York's FT advanced standing, in case anyone is waiting to hear.

Congrats! May I ask how you found out? Was it an email or on MyFile?

This is exactly what I did. I was in SDS and did their 1 year BSW. I had applied to it as well as UofT 2 year MSW. I was rejected from UofT but did the BSW at Waterloo. I think it really helped as now I have been accepted to both Toronto and Laurier advanced standing (funny enough, I was waitlisted at Waterloo). If you're currently in your BSW you can apply to advanced standing programs, you'll just need to submit your transcripts and maintain a certain average to hold your spot if you are accepted into a program.

Just Got my acceptance to Laurier Advanced Standing this afternoon. My last name starts with an A so I'm sure others will be hearing soon. Congrats and good luck to all

Has anyone received a physical/mailed copy of their UofT acceptance? I’m not sure if we need to mail our decision into the graduate office or is there an email/online option? (I’m nervous it won’t arrive on time by mail)

I understand what you’re saying but it’s kinda on the school to decide where they place their funding. UofT has the oldest MSW program in Ontario so it’s fair for them to have more established community connections. Waterloo is a good school though. A much newer MSW program but I completed my BSW there and enjoyed it.

Hey, I’m not going to waterloo for my MSW but I completed my undergrad and BSW there and have friends who are currently in the MSW program. Let me know any questions I might be able to help with.

Keep your head up. I was rejected from Toronto 2 years ago before completing my BSW. I'm not sure if/how many people get in off the waitlist but keep doing what you can to improve your application (volunteering, working, research).

Anyone admitted to UofT gerontology? I’m seeing most are from the mental health stream. I got my acceptance this morning and so happy. Congrats to everyone and stay optimistic everyone still waiting.

There was an email with instructions. You need to log into Sgs then go to update profile at the bottom and get your student number and use that along with the username they send in the email

There should be invited written in orange on the admissions page I believe it was
