I feel like we will hear back from UofT at the beginning of next week (Monday or Tuesday), based on previous years.

Fingers crossed acceptances  for U of T's 2 year MSW start to roll out over the next week or so! I'll be checking ACORN and SGS daily haha! Past years found acceptances were released in last week of March, with waitlists, and declines following shortly after.

So I started a count down till the 25th of March. According to previous threads U of T 2-year acceptances come out between the 25th and early April. Even though this is pure conjecture it’s still nice for me to feel like I have some idea of what is going on even if I don’t get in haha
That being said...9 days till the 25th!
Maybe this can add some fun to a stressful and uncertain time for others that are waiting too

Hey everyone, I'm a 2-year MSW hopeful who's been lurking here since last summer, so I thought it was finally time to post something. It's helpful to hear what kind of gpas and work experience other folks have, but I think it can be really easy to compare yourself to others when really it's just so hard to tell what exact combination of grades/experience will get you in. I know I've gotten pretty intense about checking this forum a lot, and I wanted to hopefully bring a little bit of positivity and hear what you're doing to keep your mind off of waiting for admissions decisions (especially the 2 year folks who might still have a ways to go).
It's finally getting a little warmer and sunnier here in southeastern ON, so I'm trying to take advantage of it and get outside a bit more! I also joined a zoom book club to try and rekindle my love of reading outside of just constantly reading for school. Admissions season can be intense - what're you all doing?

Thanks for sharing this! I think it might also be because UofT has a medical school so it has a stronger relationship with hospitals/provides more funding to hospitals due to that.

Agreed. I wouldn’t call it “throwing money at”. It’s where they allocate their funding. Ryerson could do so as well, but they dont.

I understand what you’re saying but it’s kinda on the school to decide where they place their funding. UofT has the oldest MSW program in Ontario so it’s fair for them to have more established community connections. Waterloo is a good school though. A much newer MSW program but I completed my BSW there and enjoyed it.

Hey everyone :) Today I got accepted to UWindsor’s 2-Year MSW Program. I’m so excited. I really didn’t think I’d get in, at the very least I thought waitlist! Just didn’t want to get my hopes up. Good luck to everyone else applying! This was the only place I applied to so I’m extra relieved.

Angela is pretty good at promptly responding to emails but I imagine we will hear back from U of T (2 year) at the end of March as we did last year

In my previous applications I received the results around those times (March 26th), and if you look back to previous years' threads people received their results at the end of March/first week of April.

    Hi guys,
Waiting on UofT 2-year and Laurier part-time online for September.
I last applied to UofT in 2018 and received a response (waitlist) on March 26th 2019.
I took a year off from applying and this year my application had ~4500 hours of work experience (research assistant in various psychology labs, worked full-time in a clinic/lab for past 2.5 years and was able to do clinical/psychiatric assessments and code counselling sessions for treatment fidelity), ~1500 hours of volunteer experience (Kids Help Phone mostly for past 3 years), 1 research publication, 2 conferences/abstracts, a couple blog posts on a research/advocacy website, and several other manuscripts in progress. My GPA for the last 10 credits honestly wasn't great (~78%) so I went back and took a few courses as a non-degree student and got 4.0s - apparently they won't count into my GPA but hopefully they make an impact. I also put a lot of work into my personal statement and had one of the social workers at my current work review it, I talked a lot about my own experiences with mental health and tied it back to my work and volunteer history.
The waiting game is so hard and I just want to find out the result either way lol.
