  1. Congrats you two!! Last year, we found people here on this forum and made a group ourselves early on. The president will make a group in a few months when the admissions list is shared with them, but we just did it ourselves first so we could meet everyone as early as possible. If you make a groupchat and facebook group named something that is easily searchable, people will slowly but surely trickle in.
  2. I just rent a unit in a house from a landlord, I'm not sure about the property management companies! Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!
  3. Congrats to everyone who got into Dal! I'm in SLP and just finishing up my first year now, so if anyone has any questions let me know. Looking forward to meeting you all in September!!
  4. I would encourage anyone looking to be a behavioural interventionist to look into the criticisms of ABA therapy, especially from the perspective of adult autistics who have experienced it and attribute it to trauma. It is a highly controversial practice right now. Personally, I would avoid it.
  5. I don't think Dal would know about you accepting another school, so I don't think it would impact your offer. I would probably accept a school, wait to hear from Dal, and if you get in, you can withdraw your acceptance to the other school. https://www.ouac.on.ca/faq/accept-offer-change-mind-later/
  6. I accepted Dal, declined my waitlist offer for UofT and McGill so that'll free up a spot! Not sure what my rank is on the lists, though.
  7. We made a group for those who got into Dalhousie for audio or SLP! https://www.facebook.com/groups/530182031785049/
  8. Just as an update, they got back to me and said its okay! in case anyone else was curious for themselves.
  9. I already emailed Dal support to ask, but wanted to see if anyone knew the answer here already. After getting accepted to Dal, I decided to drop one of the courses I was taking that was a prereq for UofT and not Dal. I dropped without academic prejudice so it'll just show up as dropped on my transcript and not impact my GPA. Does anyone know if that will impact my offer for Dal? Even if it's not a prereq course? I did it impulsively and realize now that I probably should have checked first. ? If no one is sure, I'll report back here when I get the response!
  10. I got accepted on Tuesday the 29th. Edit: Lol idk how, but I thought I was quote replying to someone but I wasn’t. No clue how to fix it or delete this post. ?
  11. Hey everyone! My name is Pam. I just found this site after googling for info about SLP in Canada. I wish I knew this existed sooner! I applied to McGill, Western, U of T and Dalhousie this cycle and got waitlisted for McGill and U of T, rejected from Western and offered an admission to Dal! So that’s where I’ll be going in September. This was my first year applying, I’m just about to graduate from my BA in Linguistics. If anyone has any questions I’d be happy to share! Congrats to everyone who got in! I look forward to meeting the rest of the successful Dal applicants soon.
