Pretty sure the 30 minutes I spent cleaning my broiler with Easy Off was all for nothing... I don't want to die by ingesting it accidentally the next time I broil steaks! Ahh! On a happy note, I'm now worried about possible poisoning instead of apps! Whoot!

I hope not! Maybe they do things alphabetically. Is it 'proper' to send out emails asking about application status? Who would you send it to? Seems like a great idea! I wonder if some of the acceptances we're seeing where the DGS emailed them are the result of them asking about their status.

There's an interview, too. I wonder if that will lead to an acceptance. I'm sure other Chicago hopefuls will hear soon. I hope UMD + UCSB send out the rest of their decisions soon too. The wait!! My hair is getting grey. Edit: Wait... how is the acceptance in the future? I'm so confused. I guess the interview led to an acceptance. Bah. Ignore my confused state.

2 of the programs I've applied to have accepted, as reported on the Survey page, 1 student each. Probably more, since not all applicants use the Grad Cafe. Question: Is this a bad sign for me? I don't know why I haven't received an email yet if others have. I met with one POI and was with him for 2 or 3 hours and spoke to the POI at the other program (East Coast) on the phone for a whole hour and a half. I believe that I hit off with both of them. I'm not understanding. While I am of course happy for those who got in, I can't help but feel like my confidence and chances are slowly being beaten down and tortured and starved.

I sent an email to the POI of my top choice school with a link to something I found interesting and thought he would too (nothing unusual for me to do)... but ... inside of using my .edu account, I used my gmail account because I forgot to click through to the dropdown menu to select the "From" account. Extra confusing because my .edu account is in my maiden name, and my gmail is in my married name. Oh sob. I literally want to crawl into a hole and never come out and hide my face for. ever. Epic fail. If I'm over reacting, oh dear lord, say something!

Heheh! Yep! To be very broad, it's Italian Art 1400-1650 or so. Emphasis on religious happenings and its effects on artistic representation, as well as how that changing representation reflects &/or molds popular belief.

U. Toronto, U. Del, U. Maryland, U. Virginia, UNC Chapel Hill, UCSB, Emory, Northwestern, William's College (Master's), UCR (Master's), U. Michigan Ann Arbor, Bryn Mawr I applied to 5 Ivies last year without looking too hard at the actual programs. Great faculty and funding and classes. Nothing as closely aligned with my interests as the above programs. I think my count in my signature might be one off.
