  1. I'm waiting on 10 PhD programs and 1 MA program. I'm also waiting on funding from the single program (MA) I've been admitted to thus far. Yikes.
  2. "I already told you you would get in everywhere." My mom to a T. Haha!
  3. I'm so tired of waiting. I almost feel numb to this whole process. I just want to know!! Even a short email with one word - "accepted" or "rejected" - would suffice. I can't get my mind off of when I'll be notified and what that notification will be. Argh.
  4. UVA, Toronto, UDel are my guesses. My top 3... Argh.
  5. Alright new week. Let's have some news!

  6. Lol!!!
  7. YES!!! Story of my life (...still). Haha!
  8. Got this one yesterday: "Oh... (nervous laugh) We'll never get you out of school!"
  9. Move & learn German!
  10. I think my programs and POIs have forgotten about me...

    CAA 2012

I'll be there tomorrow! It's like Christmas.
  12. Hey guys! I've been wondering this for a while & just now decided to ask... What role does the DGS play in decision making? Is s/he on adcoms? Does s/he have lots of pull regarding who gets in? Or are they simply the ones who send out emails?
  13. SO jealous. I wanted to work with him in grad school but if memory serves me correctly Mount Holyoake doesn't have a graduate program in art history. He is literally my favorite scholar.
  14. I really, really want to get into UDel. Dream program.
  15. Every time I check my email and applications and there's nothing there, my brain lets out a long, silent scream. Oh, if I had the virtue of patience...

my program only alerts ppl by snail mail, so after having anxiety attacks when i check my mail and realizing nothings there, i begin to count the hours down til next mail delivery. lol also it was mardi gras and tulane gets a buncha days off so that might have delayed the mail. blaaaaah. i know my app was in committee review last week i need to knooowwww their decision!!!

  16. Agh! Seriously. Although, if I break down by the end of next week and happen to email someone in admin... I won't feel bad because of this thread. I can't help my impatience. Maybe I'll try to hold off until March 10...
  17. Thank you! My MA program is UCR but I'm also waiting on Williams (which reminds me I have to do the FAFSA, ugh). Have faith, you still have PhD programs to hear from and you never know I'm personally waiting to hear back from 10 PhD programs and I find it hard to believe they will all reject me. How many are you waiting on? I'm sure you'll get in somewhere great!
  18. Thanks Hicks! An acceptance does make things slightly more bearable, but ... Agh. I know decisions are being sent out at their normal pace, but it sure seems like they're taking longer than they should.
  19. Oh man. Wish I was that close (geographically) to my POIs.
  20. My work has been insanely busy with two major conferences within two weeks of each other. I get to plan those and call a billion people. Busy, busy, busy. But I somehow manage to still check my email, GC, and application statuses multiple times a day. :S
  21. In light of getting into an MA program, I really want to email a few of the PhD programs to ask what my status is, but I know I should wait until the second week of March before doing so... It'd be so nice to know where I'm getting in so we can start planning a cross country move.
  22. I switched cell phone carriers today and sold back my phone in Sprint's Buy Back program. They kept it. Problem: POIs may call and leave messages, and I'll never ever know. I'm overthinking, right? ;)

Yes. They have your email, they won't just give up because you didn't answer your phone.

      Haha! My fears exactly. ;)

  23. Thanks everyone. It's comforting to know that we're in the same boat. However, I am still so anxious. So much so that I'm tempted ever so much to email the DGS and ask about the status of my application, but I know that doing so is a huge no-no, so I won't. I just can't stand not knowing. I care so much about this program. :/
