  1. That was the best!! What a smart little cat.
  2. Well, it's the end of the first day of March and ... I still have heard nothing.
  3. These wonderful words from Simon Schama's Power of Art just resurfaced in my memory: That took my mind off applications for... 15 minutes. Win.
  4. Broke down. Emailed a POI about a paper I heard at CAA that I genuinely think he'd enjoy. (He wasn't at CAA.) Oh gosh not having any news... my brain is melting... save me! (cue terminator melting in the weird lava stuff; unlike terminator, my sanity may never come back. )
  5. I didn't hear a single thing today, and there was no mail. This is basically my mental and physical state: It's not very nice.
  6. How I'm feeling... almost all the time.
  7. I know... And my husband just told me we didn't get any mail. WHY, PROGRAMS? WHY?!! Aggg!!
  8. Not another day of silence!!
  9. Congrats Ocatvia3! Your dedication and persistence are greatly admired and I'm so happy to see that it paid off!! Congratulations on your acceptance to Bryn Mawr!
  10. Whew!! Thank you, Sparky! I wasn't sure if it would affect the funding or not. Glad to hear it's standard
  11. Some day news will come, some dayyy news will come... (I've turned into a grad school applicant version of Snow White.)

  12. Hi guys! I was recently admitted to an MA program. They think they can offer me full funding and that I should expect an official decision "soon." Their website says: "Students who accept fellowship and/or grant awards will be required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)." It doesn't elaborate as to why students need to fill out the FAFSA, nor am I certain of what type of funding my program is offering me (although I do know I'll get a TAship in the second year.) I just completed the FAFSA, and my EFC was higher than I thought it would be, perhaps because I'm on a significant salary right now. I obviously won't be making that amount of money once I get into graduate school. Do you think that this program will look at the EFC and the income I made this past year and think "Oh, she earned (dollar amount) this past year, she can afford us" and then rescind their full funding offer? Sorry if this is a silly question. I don't understand the way these things work. Thanks in advance
  13. Another UDel acceptance from Feb 22!! You guys! I don't think I got in. :'( How can I find out? I need to know.
  14. Right there with you!
  15. Corporate America and I do not get along.

  16. The survey page makes me so sad. But how to stay away from it? :(

  17. I am thisclose to emailing the POI at my top choice and asking right out if he knows if I got in or not... I can't handle the waiting. I just want to email him so he'll tell me and I can move on with my life.
  18. Wish I could buy you a drink! Or (insert favorite sugary treat here).
  19. Exactly this! Sigh. Plus I just want to go email crazy and email all the graduate secretaries/DGSes/whoever to inquire if decisions have been sent out yet. I don't particularly understand why this is so frowned upon - you'd think that grad programs would enjoy alleviating the stress of our currently fragile minds - but I've heard that it's not proper practice.
  20. Hmm... For UVA, 2 weeks ago would be around Valentine's Day, plus there's an acceptance from the 4th of Feb. this year. They're admitting around 5 applicants according to their website, so that's 2/5 plus any that we might not know of because they don't use the GC. Super worrying commenced.
  21. From the results, it doesn't seem like UVA sends out their acceptances all at once, so even though I'm not too worried that all hope is lost... I'm still worried.
