Yep, mine says that too. It means you're accepted and will get official notice by mail soon. The dept is still figuring out funding details and will email all accepted people with that info by the end of the week. -

Emailed to ask about notification timframe and was told my application was complete and that most applicants should hear in March after the review comm carefully reviewed eaxh file. . . So nothing new. I guess we'll just all have to hang tough. -
Good to know Medicine. Thanks for sharing.

So, just emailed Mike again to ask if people who were accepted or waitlisted would be notified by website as well (my website status hasn't changed). He told me that admissions decision were made yesterday and people who were chosen will be hearing by email by the end of the week and then official letters via USPS shortly thereafter. Good luck! -
Yeah, don't know. I'm hoping that there's like one per subfield on the waitlist so that if one on the first-round accepted list says no, there's room for the waitlisted in the field, but somehow, I think that's wishful thinking. I emailed Dr. Lesser asking for specifics after I got his waitlist email, but he hasn't gotten back to me yet I'll let you all know if I have any info.

Soooooooo, don't mean to sound pushy or anything like that, but I was just wondering if there are any early modernists who were accepted to UTA who are considering turning down that offer for another. I realize that until post visit weekend, most people won't know, but I'd love, love, love to go here and would be interested in hearing if there is anybody with at least a potential alternate decision he/she would prefer. Thanks!

Nobody has posted any acceptances yet, nor have I seen any in peoples' signatures. I'd guess they're weeding down to a smaller pile before starting to send out acceptances. Thanks for the info cicada. Those numbers match more closely what I've heard. I think likely they admit about 50 (maybe both Ph.D. and MA) and end up with a 10-person Ph.D. cohort. -

I spent a summer at Cambridge and love, love, loved it! I wish the funding were different; I'd have loveto do my grad work there. Anyway, hoping to hear from UW soon. Good luck to all of you! Edited to add congrats to Osodulce on Penn State! I'm so thrilled for you, especially after your luck earlier in the season. One of my undergrad profs did his Ph.D. there and loved it. Best of luck to you! -

God, I hope this doesn't drag on with UW until the end of March. Lame. Sigh, good luck to everyone waiting! -

There's a rejection posted on the results board. Firstly, condolences and good luck elsewhere. Next, did they include any info about number of applicants, number accepted, how they're notifying, etc.? I haven't heard anything from them. . . -
I emailed the graduate secretary about time frame for notification. She said this: "The committees are still reading the files. They are sooooo sloooow! You should receive a letter by the end of the 2nd week in March." She also said that notification goes out via snail mail, which is pretty lame.
-
I'm sure she just means no official notifications have been made. Lots of programs will say that when you communicate with them because the offers/contacts come from the department not the grad school. Good luck with all those waitlists!

Yo! Who is still waiting to hear from UO? An earlier post said the ad com was making final decisions Friday, ssssoooo shouldn't we all know by now? -
Also waitlisted. I'm an early modernist. I'm hoping that it doesn't take until right at the April 15 deadline for notification about the liklihood of getting in off the waitlist, but with the late visit date, it seems pretty likely it will take awhile. Obviously would have preferred a direct admit, but I would agree, tortola, the unanimous recommendation for acceptance bit felt nice
-
SO weird. Sorry Byronlover. Best of luck elsewhere.

Hey WordFiller. That about matches my personal hypotheses as well. I guess we'll wait until Monday and see what's up. At least the grad sec. said we could contact her March 1 if we don't know yet so we can all pounce Tuesday if we don't hear by Monday! Good luck to you!

Hey! Condolences to the people posting rejections, but I've still heard nothing and I'm wondering a couple of things. How many of you have similarly still not heard anything? And what are the suppositions at this point as to what this means? Pending rejection, potential acceptance, at best waitlist? I had just decided to count myself rejected when those acceptances were first posted, and now I must admit that damn hope is starting to smolder in the ashes. . . I'd just really like to know what's going on!

Good luck elsewhere Crae. I'm surprised they did decisions this week after what the grad secretary told me. -
Uhhh. . .I'm not sure about that. The guy I talked to, when I asked about cohort size, mentioned some numbers for MAs, but he didn't say anything about whether they were being contacted now. I don't think so, though.
-
Mine are all higher too, but I don't think that UTA puts a ton of stock by objective data. However, as you all mentioned, either way feels nice to be above the average, no?

I have no info, but I can say that Madelon Sprengnether the DGS has been really prompt at getting back to me. Have you emailed her? Her assistant Karen Frederickson has also been really helpful as I've been arranging stuff for the visit weekend. If you haven't been emailing them and want their emails, PM me (or I'm sure you can find them on the website too). Good luck!
