I was wondering where can I buy more full lenght practice test for the revised GRE? I already have manhattans, princeton and PP. I did the free Kaplan Test and I wanted to buy more from them but apparently they dont sell their tests. Any other good suggestion? I still have 2 weeks before the test and no material to practice. Thanks for the help

Hello I just did my last Princeton Practice tes and as many of you know there are some errors, even in the answer they gave. I have 2 math problems where I am pretty sure their answer is not correct but I need to be sure that is not me who is making a wrong assumption. I wanted to chek this 2 questions with you guys but I dont know how to post images in the forum so you can see them... If anyone can help... Also this way we could post, the hardest math questions and maybe help each other on solving them Thanks for your time

Yes there are problems with the princeton tes, especially in select sentences questions. However they are good practice anyway. I do not think your scores are that bad, remember the percentile scale is supposed to be more distribute for the new scoring system. I think anything above 160 might be good. About the kaplans test I jsut took the free one because I cant find any paid test, and they are the best in my opinion

I thin practice test like Manhattans are a better choice. I used only one Book, Craking the GRE, (Since they all cover the same material) and spent some more money on practice test which I feel are the best way to get better

I have the same problem, I am appliying to Berkeley and they told me that 3 Professor rec are better, since they need to evaluate me in an academic background. But I though it was better if I sent 1 letter from my current job, which is related to the field I am applying to. It seemed weird to me that they werent interest on it

SOP tips

That sounds good, thanks for the advice.... -
I still have some problems with the High Level Questions in the Manhattan Tests and Kaplans Test, especially those of Permutation, Combinations and Probability. Those are the subjects I need to practice and study more but in the prep materials I have available there isnt much of it. I liked the Free Kaplan tests a lot, but I havent found any place to buy another.

I am officially out of practice drills, online exercises, practice test, and I still have 2 more weeks left untill the GRE. Any suggestion or extra material? I especially need hard math tests, I need to break the 750 barrier...

SOP tips
George2248 replied to George2248's topic in Statement of Purpose, Personal History, Diversity
What about the literary style of SOP. Ive reas many samples that seems like a short story, with personal experiences, even metaphors. Do you the writing style has any importance? Especially for an Engineering Program. I thing I might be being to literal I just answering the question they ask for, and I dont know if this might be a problem? -
I guess there are no Kaplans test for buying

Hello everyone, I am an international student from South America and I have no experience in the US educational background. I just graduated from a top school in Engineering in Venezuela and now I am planning to apply to several Engineering Management and Construction Management Programs like Berkeley, Columbia, Illinois, Duke, etc. Since I do not have any orientation or expert advice helping me with my application, I am a little worried about the SOP and Personal History essays that must programs ask for. I have really good GPA, and I graduated top of my class, I have good recommendations and I am expecting good results from the GRE since I am in the 1350 - 1400 on my practice exams. The problem with the SOP is that every school have different indications and some schools also require Personal History statements. For example: BERKELEY: "Please describe your aptitude and motivation for graduate study in your area of specialization, including your preparation for this field of study, your academic plans or research interests in your chosen area of study, and your future career goals. Please be specific about why UC Berkeley would be a good intellectual fit for you. Make sure to check on the appropriate department admissions web site to find out if your statement should include additional or more specific information." DUKE: "Please upload a one-page Statement of Purpose indicating your objectives in undertaking graduate study in Duke's Master of Engineering Management Program or Master of Engineering Program." Since the directions are so different, should I still follow a sample SOP or just answer what they ask for in each program? When I read sample SOP online they look like they all follow the same pattern and do not adapt to the directions given... Also, some schools dont ask for research interests, and I think that is because it is not important for management programs, do you think it might be good to mention them anyway? One last thing, is there any structural pattern that I should follow for the SOP, number of words?, things I must mention? Thanks for your time and help, maybe other people have these same questions....

Hello everyone, I am wondering if anyone have a link where I can buy some online practice test from kaplan besides the free one. I have been looking all over their website and I cant find them. Also any other good free and paid tests besides Manhattan and Princeton that you recommend might be helpful Thanks

That is good to know, at least that gives me hope... Does anyone have more that 750 or close in Manhattans tests?
-
Ive done also 3 manhatans (avg. 620V, 715Q), 3 princeton (AVG 153V, 160Q), 1 kaplan (580-680V, 750-800Q), 1 PP (550-650V, 750-800Q) According to my scores (and yours) it looks like Manhatan Quant is a little harder than other tests. I was wondering if anyone else experience the same thing? Since I need more than 750 in Quant, I am a little worried with the Manhatan score that I got. *keep posting scores, practice and real, so we can get a bigger sample

I dont think it is that simple

That is good to know, I am now taking the Manhattan test and they seem good, although a little harder than Princeton, PowerPrep and Kplan

Applications that ask where else you're applying..
George2248 replied to Gvh's topic in Applications
Is this about "research interest" that important to a MEng. Since it is not a PHD that I am applying to and there is no research mentions in any of the requirements for this programs. I see that many people in the forums are really concern about research interests, research experience, etc.... but actually I have none research experience I dont think that is a problem for the kind of programs I wanted to apply. -
thanks for the help, i already did the manhatans, princeton and kaplan free tests and I was looking for some more Let me chek the 800.com and number2.com

But the main question is, does hurts or help to tell them which other programs you are applying? I am just finishing my app in Berkeley and they ask this question. Does it look good or bad to say that I am planning to apply on Illinois, Cornell, WUSTL, USC and Columbia?? Also they ask I have applied to any other program, I have not already but I will so I am not so sure whether to tell them or not? -
Where can I find some good practices tests for free and paid... and good practice drills sets like kaplans? Also, I hace 6 free practices test for the old GRE, I was wondering I they could be useful, at least for the math? what do you say?

Thanks for the.... I already contacted must of the programs but they were not very specific about how they wanted the transcripts. I guess I will send them and see what feedback they give me.

Hello I am an International student, with no background in the US education system, I just got my BS Degree in Civil Engineering from a top University in Venezuela. I was wondering if there are any International Students as me who are planning to apply for the next Fall Semester. This way we can share some concerns and help each other. The main concern I have is regarding the Official Transcripts. Some Schools want me to upload my transcripts and others want me to send the transcripts by mail. The problem is that I am not sure what I need to mail and how they need to be certificate. Do I need a Degree? only grades? letter of completition? class ranking? Also, according to my school in Venezuela, the transcripts they gave me need to be certificate by the "Haya Apostile" and then they need to be translated by a recognized translator. I am not sure if this certification process is really required for the US and for the application process. Thanks for the help and feedback....

I just checked WIT, it looks pretty good, I would really like going to Boston but there arent many Engineering options besides MIT. I will take IT into account in case the other programs are too hard to get in. Any other suggestions? I am still looking and there are not many good options.

Is there any way to find this kind of workshops for free? I dont want to keep buying books...
