  1. I applied to EMD. Not sure what the interview situation is with international students, sorry.
  2. Me too, and they didn't send an e-mail. That's how I found about UNC last week as well.
  3. Thanks! I went to the interview but I didn't hear back yet. I think that what they said at interview day is that they would start making decisions this past Wednesday and we should hear anywhere from a few days until 2 weeks after then. So I bet we will start hearing next week.
  4. Hi, I just wanted to revive this thread to see any PhD Epi applicants have made a decision yet about what school they are planning to go to, impressions they've had about programs so far, and why they're considering or not considering going to a particular school, etc. Personally, I'm still waiting to hear back from a few schools before I make a decision, but would love to get a chance to talk to future classmates when I do decide.
  5. Hey universe, I'm also interested in ID epi and applied to all of the schools that you did. Hopkins did phone interviews for ID Epi. I have heard that they already sent out their acceptances. So I think I am either wait listed or rejected there. Yale also did interviews for EMD Epi. I know that their initial acceptances come out of their interview pool, but its possible they have a wait list. I just found I was rejected at UNC today. I randomly checked their website and the decision was there but I never got an e-mail. Good luck!
  6. I saw a bunch of acceptances to Hopkins PhD Epidemiology in the results section. Did anyone get rejected yet? I'm trying to figure out if having not heard anything implies rejection at this point.
  7. So glad you heard back and were accepted! I still haven't heard. What is your research interest, you background, and your stats if I mind asking?
  8. Congrats on UNC! I just checked my application online, and there wasn't a decision. I wonder if they give all of their decisions around the same time or they are staggered. Also someone on SDN got a phone interview from Hopkins, but other than that I haven't heard of anything from them either. ------ Accepted: GWU Interview: Yale, Emory Waiting: Tulane, UT Houston, Hopkins, U Washington, UNC
  9. I'm sure admissions decisions are different every year, depending what's going on in a particular department. I'm trying to figure out what schools do official interviews for Epi. I know Emory does official in-person interviews, and I think it seems like Yale and John's Hopkins do phone interviews based on reading the results section from previous years. I'm pretty sure that if you don't get an interview from those 3, it means you get rejected- someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I am also guessing that there are some programs that might not have official interviews for everyone they accept, but may have certain faculty members who conduct their own personal, unofficial interviews for potential mentees. If anyone knows what schools do/don't official interviews, please share because I haven't heard a peep from any school I've applied to besides Emory (interview invitation) and GWU (acceptance without interview).
  10. Hi everyone, I just got my first acceptance today at GWU! I'm applying to Ph.D. programs in Epi Accepted: GWU Interview: Emory Waiting: UNC, Yale, UW, UT-Houston, Tulane, John's Hopkins
  11. I applied to a PhD program via SOPHAS and on the SOPHAS website it said for this particular program my application had to be in to the school by 1/15 so the application should be e-submitted 5-10 business days prior to 1/15. Then on the school's website it said deadline of 1/1- with no mention of SOPHAS. I e-submitted to SOPHAS on 1/1 thinking that 1/1 was the e-submit deadline and 1/15 was the mailing deadline, but now I'm so confused because I'm reading that it takes SOPHAS a month to process things. I called them and they were of no help tell me that my application should be "mailed" in 4-6 weeks, yet, they acknowledged I followed the directions correctly by e-submitting 5-10 business days before 1/15. and that I shouldn't be worried. They were also kind of mean.
