I don't know about that.... I am facing a similar problem... Vanderbilt with a REALLY generous offer, versus UF, with a much more recognized program and a good offer, but with a smaller city, and maybe less to do... However, I am right now more inclined to take UF's offer... because of the long term opporunities that could develop from my studies there.... Money could be thinked of as a late benefit... and if RPI has good contact with many companies, maybe the relationships developed there... could be worth much more than the money that Vanderbilt is offering...

Well I am also waiting for a Saturday/Sunday miracle I know that it has happened once or twice... not for me though... but at this time... anything could happen...

I just saw like 5 or 6 rejections from UIUC in the results page.... however I didn't get any e-mail Are any of those people who posted reading this? Did you just received rejection mail? Or did you asked for your status somehow? I don't know if this is good or bad.... it is surely stressful

Still nothing and the day is almost coming to an end Guess that we will have to wait until next week Hopes are starting to fade though....

I have a couple universities with similar goals for my program. I guess this March 15 deadline is mostly the date they are used to give results... Similar as the April 15th deadline for giving final answer on your decision.... (Which will make sense since it gives you exactly one month to decide....) I wouldn't be surprised if decisions this year were delayed until next week (hopefully Monday...)

yes Indeed we are still waiting... I guess some universities and/or departments just enjoy making us suffer in the waiting process.... I'm still waiting to hear from 3 universities, and have already 3 answers.. Even though there is still time, I guess each day that goes by silently takes a little bit of the hope for positive answers....

Agreed again. I answered 2 having 3 unanswer applications yet ... Also, I would like it if the poll was made using two parameters. Positive answers versus total applications. Maybe that could give us a lot more of information! However, I don't know if the forum's polling system is able to do this

Dear djrg, We would like to make you know that our admission process is made in such a way to remove any possible bias from our professors. For this purpose, we have made our own algorithm based on randomness, similar to the work I think you would like to do. This is why, I regret to let you know that your application slipped-off my bed when I threw into the air, and since it fell into the ground, we are unable to offer you admission for this Fall. I would have to admit that I didn't even read your application and know your name and area of interest just thanks to the initial scan of the applications my secretary did in order to classify applications. That said, I will never know if you could have been my best student ever; however, we need to be fair and stick to our well-proven process. I wish you the best in your future endevours. good! we all need positive thinking! I am not very confident of getting any answers at all tomorrow [or today for those of you who are already on Friday] However, positive thinking and prayers are all we have left to combat the 13th....

I have being reading this thread the whole day at work.... Well I had to make a real effort not to laugh nervously at some of the stuff that has being written... I feel so identified with most of the comments... something I wanted to add is: - I used to have sort of a girlfriend xD [guess she is not into highly depressive, unfocused, greedy(I need to save money if I am moving into another country) and cranky guys] Certainly I have being accepted to at least someplace and much of the anxiety left is just to make concrete plans for the future.. However.. this process has certainly wrecked what I used to be and had left behind something not even I quite recognize... Hope the best for those of you who haven't got any positive answers yet....

I like your way of thinking... I'll have to cross my fingers and hope for the best.... Decisions could come anytime....

Has anyone heard something on the results for UIUC? I saw a couple admits on the results page, however no official rejects so far... I have lost almost all hope with them right now, since they said results are given before the March 15th... and I haven't heard from them... but I would like to know if there are more people still waiting for their result like me....

I have being accepted at UF and am thinking of moving to Gainesville this Fall. I was thinking on applying for in-campus housing, is this a good idea? I have seen their web-page and apartments seem nice and more than affordable. Also, I am single and with no kids, so I guess looking for a house would be too much for my specific needs. Can anyone give me some insight on any cons of living on campus?

I just saw a couple of rejections from Georgia Tech being submitted today... Any comments on what this could mean for people like me who are still waiting for an answer? I was also wondering if these people contacted the department for answers or if they just received the rejection mail.... Anyone knows anything about this?
