  1. Most universities are operate as usual during reading week. Obviously there are no classes, but often offices/administration/services are open. I would assume most SGS are open and operating, so I would imagine it is very possible to receive decisions over the break.
  2. Wow already? The deadline was Jan 31st, correct? that is very quick
  3. Thanks for the reply, I am more or less trying to figure out how many applications, on average make it to OGS, and how many scholarships are awarded. Does anyone know a place where such information exists?
  4. Does anyone know the likelihood of received OGS when you application is "In competition". I asked a similar question for SSHRC, and someone replied with some information, hoping for the same here.
  5. I applied to the Criminology MA program, but I do not expect to hear back until mid-March at the earliest. My application still says "Documents Pending", I have had everything in since middle of January. I guess it will probably be closer to April! haha
  6. I also got that status update, looks like OGS finally posted all of the notifications (a month late, haha)
  7. Thank you very much Blurry!
  8. So does anyone know the likelihood of getting funded if you application is forwarded to Ottawa? I have heard conflicting stories.
  9. Through my university, but they have yet to get back to me. I got an email directly from SSHRC - I do not know if it is normal, as this is the first time I have applied. -bentharbour
  10. I was just notified by SSHRC that they have received my application.
  11. So, out of curiosity. If your application is forwarded by your university you are very likely to get the SSHRC? It is my first time applying, so it would be very nice to know of my chances if my application is forwarded. -bentharbour
  12. I am in the same position, I am regretting the use of my enterprise university account in my applications. Now every time my iPhone vibrates my heart skips a beat. Im sure that will change, there is a long wait ahead!
  13. Surefire, I would definitely consider myself to have an interdisciplinary background. My undergrad is in Criminology, but much of my research and experience has involved policy studies, political science, and global governance. I see myself walking the very fine line of being involved in both areas (even if it is difficult). As you can see by my application list, I have kept things fairly wide open in order to appeal to all of my interests. Glad to see other folks applying to similar programs (even if it is the PhD, not MA). Good luck! Hopefully we both come back here with good news! ps. I have heard all of the stories about U of T - fingers crossed!
  14. I've applied to a range of master's programs: Carleton University: Sociology, NPSIA, and Political Science uOttawa: Criminology Waterloo: Sociology U of T: Criminology UOIT: Criminology It is going to be a stressful couple of months! Good luck to everyone
  15. Hello All, I am new to the forums, but I have been lurking around these parts for a while now. I submitted most of my MA applications the past couple of days! Thankfully, well ahead of the deadlines (Jan 31st-Feb 1st). Now the anxiety begins! I am applying to only Ontario schools, my research interests are very much entrenched in several areas, so I have applied to Sociology, Criminology, Political Studies, and International Affairs programs. I have a feeling the next few months are going to go by extremely slow. Thankfully I still have to finish up my Bachelor of Arts degree.
