gelatinskeleton Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Who else applied to Michigan's MPP program? It was a last-minute decision for me but I'm actually really excited about this program. Of course, even if I get in, I'm out of state, so the funding situation might be rough. Has anyone heard anything?
MPPKollege Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 I applied to Ford's MPP program. I believe decisions come Mid-March in respect to funding and admission decisions.
VeryCheesey Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 I've applied too. And @MPPKollege is right, they tend to roll out results by mid March. Waiting with bated breath.
MPP18applicant Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 It seems like this thread is dead this year compared to other schools’ threads and the UM one from last year. Is anyone else out there anxiously awaiting a decision from Ford? TalkPoliticsToMe 1

MPP18applicant Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 It’s definitely my first semi-realistic choice (I also applied to HKS am not expecting anything on that front). Hoping for UM decision by mid-next week? The HKS thread is filling me with a lot of anxiety about decision dates though!
Edpol93 Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Got in!!! Accepted via email with a video message just now.

lackey Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Great job! You all are rockstars, funding or not. Treat yourself tonight. gelatinskeleton and VeryCheesey 2
wakandaforever Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Accepted! Ford is one of my choices. For those in the forum who consider Ford their top choice can you explain why? Would love to hear your perspectives on the program as we start making the hard decision on where to attend this fall! VeryCheesey 1
bumblybee Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 The giant question mark in the video cracked me up. ???
elizabethrs Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 I was also accepted with 50% funding, but I have better offers elsewhere and probably won't be attending.
gelatinskeleton Posted March 12, 2018 Author Posted March 12, 2018 25% funding! I may fill out the form and apply for more funding. Ford would be a great match for me but a full ride at LBJ is hard to pass up.
2018Hopeful Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 In with 50%! Still waiting to hear from HKS and WWS
bumblybee Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Did you guys get a separate email about funding? I haven’t seen anything come through yet.
wakandaforever Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Yay, admitted with full 2 year funding and 20k/yr stipend. elizabethrs 1

MPPChicagoan18 Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 (edited) In with 25% funding as well. Similar funding at Harris, waiting on HKS. Congrats to all the admitted students! Anyone else in a similar spot? I'm pessimistic about Harvard, so it might come down to these two. While UChicago would probably be better for my career- I want to work in Chicago long-term- my understanding with Michigan is that they offer strong funding opportunities after the first year, so it might end up being cheaper. Has anyone else heard this? Edited March 12, 2018 by MPPChicagoan18

Has anyone else heard this? I'm in a similar boat, but with Chicago and Duke. Harris gave me 25% funding and Sanford gave me over 50%, plus an assistantship, so I'm still trying to figure things out. I got into Ford with 0 funding, so I will probably go somewhere else. Great school though! I just can't afford it.
