I am having a very hard time making a decision. I am leaning towards McGill but I may be biased because I did my bachelor's there. Have you already heard back from UofT's MPH (Health Promo)? I'm waiting on them before accepting SFU (deadline Friday)

Waiting on UofT's offer to make a final decision about SFU but do you have any insight about how to decide between the two programs? From what I understand, both programs have a strong global health focus which is what I'm interested in but is one program known for being particularly harder than the other? I haven't been able find any info about this...
Titania Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 Anyone heard from U of A Global Health? the wait is frustrating?

I haven't been able find any info about this... I'm struggling to decide between the two as well! I am not sure about difficulty - my assumption would be that UofT is harder, if anything, but I think I'm just associating it with being prestigious, which I'm not even sure is relevant for an MPH lol. For me, I really like SFU's broad range of core courses, relative to specializing at UofT, and the emphasis on social justice. While I am pretty sure of my decision with the Health Promo route, I like the idea of taking a range of different courses. Also, price wise I think SFU is significantly cheaper and they offered a bit of a funding package which is nice!
phlove33 Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 anybody hear back from queens yet? i know first round deadline was yesterday. i still haven’t heard back ?
katniss055 Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 Anyone else who got rejection from SFU except me ?

Before hearing back from schools, I always thought I would lean more UofT than SFU because of the whole prestigious factor but I'm really trying to get over this thought process since what really matters is the content of the program! UofT is tempting because I wanted a change of scenery (did my undergrad at UBC and I'm a local) but the program is not drawing me as much as the city is at this point. I think I'll have to reach out to more current students/grads from the program to hear what they think but at the moment, I think I'm leaning more towards SFU.
phlove33 Posted April 8, 2020 Posted April 8, 2020 anyone waiting for queens, the grad assistant just told me i’m waitlisted and they’ll send out offers to waitlists at the end of april all the way until june.

I was accepted to the U of T MPH (Health Promo) earlier today! I thought I knew what I wanted to do but now I am as torn as ever haha. I think it's comforting to know that no matter what we decide it will be the right choice, and an incredible learning opportunity! bmph23, Titania and mphsznn 3

That's so amazing What a stressful way to make you find out though. My heart would have been beating so fast waiting to open that letter haha. Good luck with your decision between the programs! Like you said, I'm sure there's no wrong decision here. I haven't heard back from U of T yet so hopefully there's still a chance. I guess I just have to wait and see!
