Just submitted my Harris 2020 MPP application. Fingers crossed.

I did not see any Harris 2020 thread so I took the liberty to start this one. Anyone also applying?

I've been stalking their twitter all day, lol.  I haven't heard from them though!  Maybe too early?

hahaha me too!! I've been checking the application management site, admission blog, admission deadlines page, and twitters all day!! I should stop because it's only early November.

omg same!  I've read everything they could have possibly published on the internet and I'm still searching for more lolllll.  When I did my visit the admissions team said early Nov, but maybe it will be closer to the middle of the month like the website says?

What other programs you guys are applying btw? Is Harris your top choice? I just realized a few days ago that their student-faculty ratio is crazy - 20:1! I went to a huge university for undergrad, and it was merely 9:1. I'm a bit worried that they simply recruit too many students while not expanding the faculty at the same rate. Is this 20:1 number normal at all?

Harris is my top choice!  I agree, that's a really good point.  I love Harris because I can see myself in Chicago, and the work they are doing surrounding social equity is incredible.  I may apply to UofM depending on the results, but we will see.

I applied to MAIDP program.  Harris is my top choice.  Do you know if that ratio is for undergrad or grad or both? I went to school outside the US and I don´t really know what a normal number for US standards is.

That ratio is for Harris only, not UChicago as a whole. And Harris only has graduate programs. For your reference, here are some numbers:

(these are from US news college ranking page, and I've cross-checked them with the number from a few schools' official website, so I assume these are accurate numbers for undergraduate programs)

large undergraduate programs at private universities: Columbia 6:1, UChicago 5:1

huge undergraduate programs at private universities: NYU 9:1, USC 9:1

huge undergraduate programs at public universities: UCLA 18:1,  U Michigan Ann Arbor 15:1

public policy schools:

Harvard Kennedy: ~5:1 calculated using numbers from their website

Duke Sanford: ~6:1

...

Columbia SIPA & UChicago Harris: ~20:1

OK I was trying not to get too obsessed but I can't anymore. Hopefully we'll know soon!

Hi! yes the MAIDP looks awesome. However, I don´t know if the Obama Scholarship is still available since it no longer appears in the University's website. I did asked to be considered for the MPP, but I do not have a GRE,  thus I don´t believe it´s really an option for me.

I saw on the result search tab that eventhough some of the accepted students are notified by phone, at least half of them are by E-mail.

I feel like we will probably hear back on Thursday or Friday???? Also, last year they released a tweet on a Thursday (December 3rd) that told people who applied to early action should stick by their phones because they were calling the accepted people that day and the next day... so hopefully they will do the same thing this year!  I am dyinggggggg over here with anxiety!
